Pixar has a second teaser trailer out for its next feature, Up, heading into theaters in 2009. The second trailer is not yet embeddable, and we haven’t featured the first teaser since July and you’ve forgotten all about it, anyway, so let’s just start there for today. And here’s my 16-month old son’s review of the teaser trailer:

Bawoon. Bawooooon. Bawooooooon! AHHHHHHH. BAWOOOOOOOOON!!!

Grampa?

The movie is about an old man and a young boy who decide to explore … ah, hell. I can tell you don’t care. Nevermind.

BaLLOOOOOOOOOOON!

Oh wait: Here’s the new trailer, now embeddable:

I could start a religion based on my undying devotion to the works of Pixar.

Julie, I am SO right there with you. Was baptised the first time I saw "Boundin'."

Posted by: amy at November 10, 2008 4:11 PM

I would join.

I've always been told that I'm "book smart" but not smart otherwise. In other words, I'm a little (okay, a lot) absentminded, easily distracted, and totally devoid of common sense.

One of my boyfriends used to always yell "balloons!" when I said or did something particularly stupid. Mean, but funny (and usually true).

Anyway, so balloons always makes me think of that.

And Dustin, you should get your kid to do more reviews for you. He gets right to the point, and isn't hampered by that unhealthy RR obsession.

Posted by: tt_marie at November 10, 2008 4:14 PM

I wouldn't just join, I'd be canonized. I'd be the fuckin' Pixar Pope.

Posted by: Optimus Rhyme at November 10, 2008 4:25 PM

I'm writing The Gospel According to Lasseter as we speak. And I want everyone to give up at least ONE hour each Sunday to devote their time to either making delicious French soup, training circus bugs, scaring young children, repaving a road, or fucking a hippy superhero lady.

Posted by: Julie at November 10, 2008 4:31 PM

Oh hells yes!

What, "Pixarism"? Whatever is settled for, I'm joining that religion. I fuckin' LOVE Pixar.

Take the worst Pixar movie, and stand it up to any Kung Fu Panda, Fly Me To The Moon (OK, that's a given), Igor, or anything else that passes as a good CGI film, and Pixar is always for the win. At least in my opinion.

I just don't get the people who bitch about Ratatouille, Monsters Inc., Cars. Cars was probably my least favorite-liked movie from Pixar, but it did the most magical thing ever (well, at least in recent memory): It made Larry the fuckin' Cable Guy tolerable, and almost likable, actually.

Top that! Jack Black was still a steaming pile of douche in Panda.

Julie I call soup!

Posted by: Pants at November 10, 2008 4:33 PM

My sense of reason and my emotional maturity level evaporate instantly whenever I am faced with a PIXAR presentation - full-length or short. As soon as those lush visuals and adorably stylized characters hit the screen, I am five years old.

And I love it. Viva PIXAR!

Posted by: Tammy at November 10, 2008 4:35 PM

Wow, I apologize infinitely for the repeated posts. I hate this computer...

Oh, and I call hippy superhero lady! I'm dating one as we speak!

^_^

Posted by: Riley at November 10, 2008 4:35 PM

I am also a huge fan of Pixar, and Sunday night I will make French onion soup and if I play my cards right my wife will wear a mask, but NO CAPE!

Posted by: ChemicalCurt at November 10, 2008 4:38 PM

Ummm....can I do my devotion on a different day Julie. I've got that scaring kids thing in the bag but I always let my daughters take it easy on Sunday. The rest of the week though, it's on like Donkey Kong!

Posted by: admin at November 10, 2008 4:38 PM

I've been Pixar's bitch since Toy Story. Bring it on.

Posted by: dsbs at November 10, 2008 4:40 PM

Pixar is amazing. The craftsmanship that goes into their movies is just incredible. It's like each and every person working there genuinely loves what they are doing and believes in it.

Or maybe I just like thinking of Pixar of a magical Happy-Land with gum drop houses on Lollipop Lane.

(I was not being sarcastic.)

I could start a religion based on my undying devotion to the reviews of Dustin's son.

Tra la la la la, spring is in the air. And I am a flower...with nothing interesting to say.

AND I AM A CUTE LITTLE BUMBLE BEEEEEE!!!

I've been a Priestess of M.Sullivan for years. Years, I tell you. I also keep an altar to the greater gods of Pixar, but I was originally ordained to the Order of Sullivan.

Posted by: lizzieborden at November 10, 2008 4:55 PM

Scaring small children and circus bugs could be a tandem activity. I'm pretty sure I've scared the bejayus out of myself by picturing a clown spider. *shudder*

What gorgeous colors! I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. Now I can do it vicariously.

Posted by: rlr260 at November 10, 2008 5:05 PM

You're a walking stick, it's funny, now GO!

ooh, candy corn, let me help you to finish it.......

Posted by: slower lower at November 10, 2008 5:05 PM

I'll be the grumpy skeptic and say that Danny Deckchair was probably better...

Posted by: Eep at November 10, 2008 5:11 PM

Count me in on voting for Dustin's spawn to do more reviews. They're short and to the point. Seriously Dustin. The kid's got talent. BAWOOOOOOOOON!!!

Posted by: BWeaves at November 10, 2008 5:15 PM

I'd be a priestess of Pixarism.

If it involved getting all buddy-buddy with John Lassiter and Brad Bird, I'm SO THERE.

Posted by: figgy at November 10, 2008 5:42 PM

Pink? Pink? What's wrong with pink? Sounds like you've got a pink kink in your think.

Posted by: Lucas at November 10, 2008 5:48 PM

I am really dating myself when my first reaction was "IT IS Ba-LOOOOOOOOOOON!!!"

Heinrich Von Zeppel made a lasting impression on my childhood...

Posted by: funtime42 at November 10, 2008 6:48 PM

"IT IS BaLOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!"

Um, "F Troop," right?

Posted by: bucdaddy at November 10, 2008 7:21 PM

The Buzz Lightyear vs. NEW IMPROVED Buzz Lightyear is easily one of my favorite scenes in any movie.

"I'm the real Buzz Lightyear!"
"I AM!"
"NO! I Am!"

I love Pixar.

Posted by: Melody at November 10, 2008 7:35 PM

So many balloons. Was like watching one of those Sony Bravia commercials.

Oh how I love Pixar's works. They're just magical, and they always just touch me in a very warm, smiley-inducing little way. And the storytelling is just so classically original.
(This from someone who still has not seen Wall-E!!)

Posted by: Lydia at November 10, 2008 10:31 PM

Somebody told me they didn't like Wall-E so I punched them in the mouth. There's not even a story there. I probably need to keep my emotions in check.

Posted by: Optimus Rhyme at November 11, 2008 12:02 AM

Wall-e was amazing. Any movie that can command my four-year-old's attention for the first hour with little to no dialogue gets a yes vote from me. Plus, it had a great message.

Plus, Loren Carpenter is an in-law of an in-law of mine, so I feel cool that I know him.
