I Don't Remember Half The Time If I'm Hiding Or I'm Lost

Goddamn do I love Ray Winstone. In fact, I love pretty much all of this trailer, even though it’s a little heavy on the melodrama at times. The film is called Tracker, and to save time, here’s the synopsis:

An ex-Boer war guerrilla in New Zealand is sent out to bring back a Maori accused of killing a British soldier. Gradually they grow to know and respect one another but a posse, led by the British Commanding officer is close behind and his sole intention is to see the Maori hang

Ray Winstone plays Arjan, the tracker, and Temeura Morrison plays Kereama, his Maori prey. Obviously, the part about them either teaming up or Winstone’s character taking pity on him is a foregone conclusion, but I’m cool with that. It has all the markings of one of those lower-budget, thoughtful films with stunning cinematography (it’s filmed on location in New Zealand) and excellent acting. I could be wrong, of course, but I like the look of it regardless.

Of course, it’ll never see the light of day stateside. So get ready to Netflix it in 18 months.

Oh look, the British are posh, hypocritical and repressed again.

I don't know. You go round the globe, helping civilise the locals, stealing their natural resources. redrawing their borders so that there will be bloodshed guaranteed for centuries after we've left - and as a thank you we're the perennial movie bad guys.

We gave you a Queen and the BBC World Service!
Does that count for nothing?!

I'll definately be seeing this, but is this not some weird take on an Australian movie with the same name from a few years ago?

Yes, how cliche. This movie needs some Tommy Lee Jones.

"I didn't ... kill ... the Englishman."

"I ... don't ... care."

I will Mr. TK. I WILL. I shall do so because it is NOT a remake, reboot, sequal, prequal. It does not appear to be based on anything or from the "acclaimed" novel. As far as I can tell noone from Gossip Girl or the *Slut Diaries is in it. There seems to be no teenagers dealing with their angst. Was it a video game? No, I think not. I recently enjoyed The Disapperance of Alice Creed because it was so surprising. Kept me guessing, and if I can't at least have that I love a good character study. I also have a fondness for 'ol Ray and Temuera Morrison (Once Were Warriors). Yup I'm in.

Very true PaddyDog.

Simon, I'll give you credit for QUEEN, because they are awesome. But nobody cares about your actual Queen, sorry.

Temeura Morrison? Fuck yeah! Ray Winstone? Oh man, this looks like a Kiwi version of Death Hunt, which had Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson together on-screen.

Sold! No thanks, I don't need the receipt. I'm good.

Can you imagine hanging out with those two after a days shooting?
