I’m still not sure if Starz is a television channel or a brand of rhinestone body jewelry, but as long as they’re broadcasting “Torchwood” they must be alright. The ten episode fourth series/season is slated to start airing on July 8th and will be a continuous story line along the lines of a mini-series, like “Torchwood: Children of Earth” was but twice as long. Below the fold we have a smattering of character pictures and a new teaser trailer.

Here’s a first look at Bill Pullman playing very bad man Oswald Danes.

I really hope they sneak in a couple of his lines from Independence Day. At least then some entertainment value would be salvaged from that abomination.

Here’s someone named Alexa Havins, channeling Jessica Simpson and playing a character named Esther Drummond, which sounds like the name the Victorian age would come up with for a Bond girl.

There are a couple more character pictures that are even less interesting over on Blastr, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t at least give you Captain Jack:

And don’t blink, this teaser goes by faster than a stone angel wearing boots of haste:

I only seen the first two seasons, and I kind liked them. but every single person I know who watched it, told me the third season was terrible.

Given Netflix's work with Starz, I've heard conflicting accounts about availability on Instant. I've heard that it'll stream live or the next day or that we'll have to wait 90 days. Anyone?

Also, Starz sounds like a third-string American Gladiator.

branded, I hope it's available streaming soon. I don't think my heart can take another show/adaptation on a cable channel I can't afford. Dear Cable Companies please oh please wont you unbundle your services? I just need that 1 HBO channel.

Wait, no pix of Gwen's teefs?

MORE CAPTAIN JACK!!! I want a little Cap'n in me!

I'm more upset about the news bit that Eliza Dushku may be headed for some kind of Torchwood web spinoff. If that's the sort of actress the producer would use to headline anything, I have little hope for the series.

I remember most of the Spartacus shows were available the next day. Since Starz is running this, can we be assured of some gratuitous nudity and slapping flesh?

I swear every episode of Party Down was available the day after it aired, so I can't imagine this will be any different.

If they ruin this by pandering to a particular demographic (yes, I'm looking at you, you whippersnappers) like they did with Doctor Who, I WILL cut someone.

Also, Lauren Ambrose is in it. Yum.

Doctor Who is, and has always been a family show,so doing stuff to attract children is very much in the remit.

As for Torchwood, yeah; I'll let you have that one.

Also, I'm sure it was just an innocent mistake,Steven but it should be corrected: they're weeping angels, not stone angels.

HA! Alexa Havens was Babe (her name) on "All My Children" for like 6 years or something. Also her hubby was the lead from the Knight Rider remake.

I'll be nice, they're a cute couple.

Silly, not sure who told you season 3 was terrible, but you should never again speak to any of them. It was a little gut-wrenching, but far from terrible. And Children of Earth was pretty phenomenal.
