Too Much Cuteness. Can't Resist.

Last month, we featured maybe the most adorable sexy awesome clip in the history of clips, with a montage of Emma Stone dancing to a “Pocket Full of Sunshine” greeting card in the movie Easy A.

The full trailer is out now, and it looks like Will Gluck (Fired Up!) is doing for The Scarlett Letter what Heath Ledger et al. did for The Taming of the Shrew with 10 Things I Hate About You. It’s something of a modern retelling with a twist: Stone’s character begins to notice that her life is running parallel to Hester Prynne’s after she pretends to be the school slut, in an effort to parlay that into high-school popularity.

The cast is enough to rock the squee right out of your brains, too. In addition to Stone, Easy A features Penn Badgley, Amanda Bynes, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Malcolm MacDowell, Aly Michalka, and Stanley Tucci.

Check out the trailer.

Before I watch this bit of joy, let me just say: the header pics over the past 12 hours or so have been greatly appreciated.

Thomas Haden Church, you put some sunscreen on right now! You're just a melanoma waiting to happen!

I remain cautiously optimistic that this movie will be awesome and that it won't suck and Emma Stone can do no wrong.

Her voice is too low to be a high school girl.
I like her voice.

I want to be an "A". Specifically, the one Emma wears.

Amanda Bines? Seriously? ew.

Posted by: figgy at May 13, 2010 12:05 PM

Amanda Bynes is slowly starting to resemble Rocky from "Mask."

See, I was going to make my own comment, but then I read Jeremy's, and really, he said it perfectly. So. What Jeremy said.

Hey, Jeremy, want to leave your exciting life in Montreal for a weekend to come to my lovely little college town in Mass (and no, I'm not near Boston) to watch this movie together?

I'm cautiously optimistic. Amanda Bynes has a thing for films based in classic literature and has mostly gone with projects in this vein that don't totally suck. It's no guarantee the streak continues, but it is something.

Also, I really, really loved this line:

"I always thought that pretending to lose my virginity would be a little more special. Judy Blume should have prepared me for that."

I find it hard to believe that someone that cute would be nobody in highschool, but other than that it looks good. I love Stanley Tucci. He's great in everything.

Thomas Haden Church is the poor man's Woody Harrelson.

Emma Stone is the poor man's *slaps self*...

It's just too low to be a high school girl's voice.

It's just how she is, like Scarlett Johansson.

Awww it's the kid from Cougar Town, I have so much goodwill for that kid. I think I transferred my affections from Michael Cera to this dude.

Also, Patty C., you marvelous screen goddess, you rock my world.

Wow, what a stupid cast. Two people I like. Jesus.

Tamatha, you must be in the Amherst area, the not near Boston qualifier is a dead give away.

I absolutely adore Emma Stone. Can't wait to see this!! Thank you for once again reviving my faith in movies about high school.
