Well, Tommy Lee Jones should play Tard in the inevitable biopic of the Grumpy Internet sensation. In Emperor Tommy boy is playing General Douglas MacArthur in the time period following Japan’s surrender in World War II. General MacArthur was basically in charge of Japan during this time and had to make the decision of whether or not to execute Japanese emperor Hirohito for war crimes. Unable to make the decision on his own, Matthew Fox’s General Bonner Fellers is brought in as an expert on Japanese culture. What follows is a quest to make a decision that could have devastating consequences for the culture, and the woman, Fellers loves. Meh. It is probably a very good movie, but I don’t enjoy movies like this.

The Brass Teapot has an interesting premise: a young married couple (Juno Temple and Michael Angarano) buy a brass teapot that gives them money whenever one of them gets hurt. Like AFLAC! This is a black comedy, so enjoy the self-injury, the punching, the couple realizing money isn’t everything, and spankings. Why not just keep stubbing toes? Or do you get more money based on the severity of pain and injury?
