It’s hard as a writer on Pajiba to draw the line sometimes on trade news posts like this. We’re not fundamentally a trade news site. There are other sites out there that post every whisper of news coming out of Hollywood and track down (or don’t, as they veer away from journalism and into pure PR) sources or verification for the rumors. I get to post one article per day, and I try to make it something that genuinely catches my eye, something about which I actually have something to ramble besides “posted without comment” or some more verbose expansion on that sentiment.

Some days it is really difficult, not because there isn’t anything new on the web, but because there isn’t anything on the web worth writing more than a sentence about. Some days it’s really easy because there’s something that immediately infuriates or delights me to the tune of a few hundred words. Other days it’s really easy for what feels like the wrong reason, because I stumble immediately across something that arouses my inner fanboy. When there’s a new “Doctor Who” or “A Game of Thrones” trailer, how can I not post it here for you fine connoisseurs of everything wonderful in the world? Yet, such an automatic response veers dangerously towards an uncritical viewpoint, towards simple fanboy regurgitation in the manner of wolves or birds.

In any case, I felt that I needed to say something more than just “more Doctor Who and Torchwood, wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!” because that would seem unprofessional and such. On the other hand, dude, more Doctor Who and Torchwood! Ahem. Sorry.

So, first up, we’ve got a teaser trailer.

Oh come on. We already got a full trailer a couple of months ago, don’t try to play sly and get us all hot and bothered over a spacesuit and a half second glimpse of the Doctor’s face. But, we’ve also got what they’re calling a “prequel” even though it’s only a couple of minutes long:

Now that’s the “Doctor Who” that I inappropriately fawn over. And finally, here’s a new official poster for “Torchwood: Miracle Day” which should be out this summer.

Wow, it's amazing how Starz came up with this "Torchwood" idea all on their own!

I grow more and more fearful of Torchwood: a starz original series, now with more America! the more information there is about it. I try not to be unfairly biased and to not assume that American studios go out of their way to crap all over everything and try to steal all the credit, but... DON'T MAKE IT SO EASY FOR ME TO FALL OFF THE WAGON THERE, STARZ. (Also, "Rex Matheson" is still an idiotic name and "Miracle Day" still sounds awkward and dumb to me, so prognosis is just not so good all around).

The new Doctor Who, on the other hand, is looking delightful. I love almost any "don't look behind you" type of shtick, so even though it's aliens instead of horrible demon monsters or something, I'm totally down with it.

Dr. Who, NOW that's a teaser.

And that prequel won't play in the USA. WTF?

Torchwood has me worried, but I'll give it a try as long as Jack is still wanting to hump anything with an orifice.

Tease, schmease. There should be articles in the Geneva Convention against posting Doctor Who trailers that we can't see. Damn you, BBC!

Re: the unavailable teaser. Go to YouTube. I did that on Friday and had no problem watching it.

Now, now, calm down. Just go to the official BBC site and it'll play. And yes, that is new and amazing, they never worked before.

I think it's on the BBC America site too.

And to make me look bad, that's now the one new video they're blocking. I knew they'd do that to me.

But it's here too:

That Torchwood poster doesn't have nearly enough Captain Jack.
