Rachel McAdams in ... Regarding Charming Potato's Notebook

I have no idea why they’d release a Valentine’s Day film trailer in June, but here’s The Vow, which stars Rachel McAdams and Mr. Potato in a mish-mash hybrid of Regarding Henry and The Notebook, minus the draw of Ryan Gosling or Harrison Ford. It’s about a young couple, Potato and McAdams, who marry. They have a car accident, and she loses her memory of him. So, he spends the next few years/decades trying to win her back and fend of the formidable Scott Speedman.

It’s too bad The Vow looks like a lunk. In Morning Glory, McAdams proved herself to be a charming and radiant comedic actress, I hate to see her backslide into the Charming Potato oeuvre.

YES! Stop hating. Everyone has an actor that gets a lifetime pass: Channing Tatum is that person for me. I find him super likeable and he's usually the best part of his terrible movies.

My sister and I will be there opening day/weekend/first week.

Watch "She's The Man" it's tremendous.

"They have a car accident, and she loses her memory of him. So, he spends the next few years/decades trying to win her back..."

-So it's like 50 First Dates only with more carbs and less Sand?

Also what happened to Wendy Crewson (the real doctor)? It's looks like she got some face work, but didn't control the bloat. She used to be gorgeous and the Queen of the Canadian tv movie.

I'm with ya, kilmo. Channing Tatum makes me smile, and She's The Man is awesome Saturday afternoon viewing.

So did they get married in the 1960s and they're still trying to make it work in the 2000s? Or did they just have a 1960s-themed wedding? And if this really takes place over decades, why do they look exactly the same after 40 years? Are they drinking whatever Sam Neill drinks? And where do I get some?

If it takes him decades to win back a woman who is already legally required to sleep with him, then he CANNOT be that charming.

In all honesty, I will probably pull for Speedman. That dude gets a lifetime pass from me for being my beloved Ben Covington.

Bitch, go w Scott Speedman!

Posted by: beet salad at June 6, 2011 2:04 PM

This is absurd. You don't pick anyone over Scott Speedman. I think Felicity proved that time and time again.

Amen, Mel C. Amen.

You can't fight against the soft spoken Canadian with lovely hair.

@Kilmo In regards to She's the Man and Mr. Potato, he is the worst part of a horribly acted (albeit incredibly entertaining) movie. He's terrible.

But I leave you with this: SUP. Name's Sebastian.

All this trailer did was inspire me to move Felicity to the top of my Netflix queue. Time to rewatch.

Posted by: elizabeth at June 6, 2011 2:29 PM

Oh goddamnit! Netflix doesn't have it.

Posted by: elizabeth at June 6, 2011 2:31 PM

Oh, Rachel. There was an entire subplot in Morning Glory about how those bangs don't work for you. You are so beautiful, but please stop trying to make the bangs happen.

@letsspoon
Let's agree to disagree, this is an argument that can never be won.

I leave you with this: "Suck it up. BE A MAN! Rub some dirt in it."

AND

Toby: I need your advice man. I got lady troubles.
Viola: I'm here for you bro. I got a lifetime of knowledge.

Are y'all seriously having a Potato Quote-Off?

(I love Pajiba.)

Posted by: MM at June 6, 2011 4:05 PM

Yea, how the hell can Netflix not have Felicity in stock all the time? No idea who allowed THAT to happen.

I love Ben C to death. Potato could never win this fight ever - not even an option. Look at Noel......
