The Statham Gets a Competitor in the Bad Ass Department

Here’s the trailer for The Mechanic, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson flick now starring Jason Statham and the almost as bad-ass Ben Foster, who needs to be in more films. It’s a January release date, which is normally a dumping ground, but ever since Taken demonstrated that January movies could do solid box-office business, it’s been harder to write off the month. Then again, Paul Blart was a January release, too.

Still, The Statham. He does lots of wrong, but he does it with attitude. And he’s ripped liked a shredded pair of Buttafuoco pants.

Oh, Ben Foster, you are quickly becoming one of those actors that I will see any movie you are in.

Looks like fun, but man, the original is an old favorite of mine.

What DeistBrawler said. Also, Tony Goldwyn, why are you ALWAYS the bad guy? I'd watch you in a rom com, dude. I swear I would.

Ben Foster AND Jason Statham?? My head (and loins) just exploded.

Do women have loins? It sounds better than genitals, anyway.

Foster and Statham in a movie has got to be solid win. I have kind of a crush on both of them.

Has Tony Goldwyn been hoarding the fountain of youth? Dude still looks the same as he did almost 20 years ago. Damn.

Statham PLUS Foster? Oh, hells yes.

Posted by: Meggrs at November 16, 2010 2:08 PM

Oh, and TK? Why you gotta bring the Buttafuoco into this?

Another mercenary with a conscience and a dodgy accent - Statham's really pushing the envelope isn't he?

Could they not just have called this Transporter 4?

Loooooooooove me some Ben Foster. He needs to do more film. Also, the look-a-like factor of him and his brother is just fantastic.

I have no idea how the double post happened. Sorry.

Posted by: Slash at November 16, 2010 6:17 PM

Ben Foster is AMAZING. I freaking love him.... He really does need more roles to take on.

And I have NO idea why I like Jason Statham as much as I do considering he makes SO MANY awful movies. Oh wait... I remember why. ;0)

Jason Statham= Venom
Ben Foster= Spiderman
this movie will be as awesome as whenever those two characters team up to fight anyone (mostly Carnage), which is always

All aboard the Foster-bandwagon. Myself has been on it ever since he was Mars in Hostage and walked through a flaming corridor with two Molotovs in his hands like thaaat.
Anway, this is on my list. Very much.

you have 10$ to spend on one movie ticket and you're really gonna go see the green lantern over this????

Posted by: Ashton Koosher at November 17, 2010 8:55 AM

yup, this is a total download, my ten bucks would definitely be in green lantern.

i like statham, liked him better as an actor before he was a b-list action star, but this genre: hitman-apprentice-betrayal-payback is so very generic and forgettable. like van damme movies that you can't tell apart from one another.

i would like to see statham's start rise higher than a van damme or steven seagal. something better than a career relegated to hungover sundays with TBS, or late night cable reruns with the swears clipped out

Another fun filled of action. Statham is one of the coolest action leading man today. Good looks plus a powerful personality suits him. When I saw the trailer I want to grab and can't wait to watch it.
