A new trailer for The Peanuts Movie was released today and this movie has suddenly shot to the top of my own anticipation list, right up there with The Little Prince in terms of high hopes for nostalgia fulfillment. It looks to be a fun cartoon caper wrapped inside a coming-of-age search for self esteem (as found in the form of a Little Red-Haired Girl). Just look at the beautiful animation, the nods to the comic strip’s history (War & Peace, anyone?), the wit. It’s all in perfect keeping with the characters we grew up with, but with enough modernity to keep kids excited.
