I was, actually, going to watch the trailer but then I went to about 4 other sites that didn't have a 30 second commercial and had a bigger screen.

This is where we all get to Nerd Out, right?

Gordon being in the hospital bed talking to Bruce Wayne about Batman and then Batman backing away from Bane at the very end are the most interesting aspects here. One seems taken directly from the comics, and the other seems a reimagination of two different comic storylines. Hmmm...

Was David Caruso here? Did I miss it again? Damn it I'm going to have a use for all these Who albums and sunglasses some day.

How long is he supposed to have been Batman in this series? 10 years? I'm guessing that because of the age gap between Gordon's children in Begins to The Dark Knight.

I think I just came.

As for the cape getting stuck. I recall in the BTS footage that the cape just naturally flaps in the wind like that. No CGI.

Jesus Christ! They got Commissioner Gordon living his last days in a fucking hospice. Fuck you Batman! Fuck you!

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! *starts foaming at the mouth*

why the heck is Gordon dying?! argh!

and dats totally u know who climbing out of u know wat. how is Nolan going to explain the supernatural aspect of it? dats gonna be a mind bender right there.

i welcome the absence of anne hathaway in this and hopefully she only shows up on the featurettes which i never watch in the first place.

Bane's going to break the Bat. It's the character's function and reason for being.

That actually gave me chills.

I don't know who climbing out of I don't know what! The well? What is that? Dish!

Mike D: Ra's al Ghul was able to come back to life in the comics by going into what is called a Lazarus Pit. I suspect that Nolan will figure out a more realistic explanation for the Lazarus Pits, though.

dats Henri Ducard who's really Ra's Al Ghul climbing out of the Lazarus Pit after dying in Begins.

dats why he's talking in this trailer.

Thanks. I hadn't heard that Liam Neeson was coming back. Guess it's still a secret?

Posted by: Miked D at July 18, 2011 7:13 PM

it says rumored on imdb now. i thought he wasn't coming back too since josh spence will be playing the new and improved Ra's unless.....they're planning to include a flashback to Begins?

the lost scenes between burning down the mansion and getting on the train? i dunno.

also, did anyone think dat Ra's was talking about himself this time in this trailer instead of Bats like he did in Begins?

Posted by: haplo at July 18, 2011 9:36 PM

Hmm... Bane and Ras Al Ghul? Now that's an interesting combination.

Oh please let him break the Bat. I would love to see this trilogy end on such a down note. It would destroy so many psyches. *grin*

Nolan can't leave us hanging like that, can he?

i mean, he has to come back for a fourth installment which wud make the Epic Conclusion tagline...weird?

Also, did the inclusion of the word Epic ruin the teaser for anyone coz it kinda did for me?

Posted by: haplo at July 19, 2011 7:13 AM

haplo and Mike D:
It was confirmed on IGN that Liam Neeson is a castmember for TDKR, and he will be playing Ra's. As far as they made it sound, Josh Pence will be flashback-Ras and Neeson will be Ras for the film's present day. Neeson's being featured in the film has not been a secret for the last several weeks.

Posted by: Lovelyb0nes at July 19, 2011 11:50 AM

Josh Pence will be flashback-Ras

i'm still leaning towards a young Ra's going against Bats though.

i can only imagine the look on Bruce's face when they meet.
