'The Longest Week' Trailer: You Had Me at "Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde Taking a Bath"

By Vivian Kane | Trailers | July 29, 2014 | Comments ()

Peter Glanz’s The Longest Week looks to have a lot going for it. For example, a bearded Jason Bateman. For another example, said bearded Bateman in a bath with Olivia Wilde. For a third example, a healthy dose of Crudup. All of them are doing things one could potentially describe as “naughty.”

I see nothing wrong with this movie.

Somehow Jason Bateman always plays a variation of the same character, making it very difficult to differentiate between his movies. I think I am going with beard length as my deciding factor.

I just cannot care about rich white people with nothing to do, who lose all their money.

For starters, losing all their money seems to be way different, and more affluent, than ME losing all my money, which would make me poor and homeless in a way that I cannot just move in with some rich person.

And she's only fifteen years younger than him. That's exactly the same age in Hollywood years.

  • Oh man how I wish this had a more 80s Eddie Murphy / Dan Akroyd vibe to it....

  • Manic Pixie Dream Romcom?

Oh so another indie-vibe movie about rich white people? It's like these are the only subject indie, auteur wannabe director can relate to. Seriously, i went to NYU Tisch for Dramatic Writing and our professor would say if I want money for my movie, befriend the film/director students because for some reason, rich people wants to be directors.

It's nice that they're avoiding Olivia Wilde's box office poison by doing the simultaneous on-demand release.

  • As long as she keeps working in comedy where she belongs.

  • Jenny Slate! How did I forget you on my Pajiba 10?!

"Jason Bateman and Olivie Wild Taking a Bath" Can we please replace the Jason Bateman part of this sentence with Natalie Dormer? I think this would vastly improve things

    Oh, I do...

For another example, said bearded Bateman in a bath with Olivia Wilde.

See, that last sentence should not have any mention of Olivia Wilde; it should be all about bearded Jason Bateman in a bath with me.

And opera star Anthony "Eddie Kessler" Laciura as the doorman.
