This? This is what I’m looking for in my big loud action movies. It’s got a plot, sure: A former Agent comes out of retirement and puts a team together to rescue his mentor. Yeah, yeah. Nothing new there. It’s got explosions, it’s got ass-kicking, it’s got good looking guys and an even better looking girl. It’s nothing new.

Except that the guys are The Statham, Clive Owen, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Dominic Purcell.

And the girl is Yvonne Strahovski.

The trailer feature’s The Scorpions’ “Rock You Like A Hurricane.”

Throw in Robert Deniro in “I’m actually enjoying the ass off of this” mode?

Yeah, I’m there. I don’t expect it to be a classic. I do expect it to be a helluva good time.

The Killer Elite is directed by Gary McKendry, and the trailer may have touched me inappropriately.

By the way, this is not a remake of the 1975 Peckinpah film. It’s based on a 1991 novel by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Interestingly, when I see Yvonne Strahovski in a movie trailer, I don't question it. It just seems like duh, obviously. But, when I see Evangeline Lily in a movie trailer, I think to myself, "What the hell is she doing there? Doesn't she know she's a television actress?"

To be fair, I do like both of them in a sexual nature.

And why is it that assassins in movies shoot at people like twenty fucking times and never hit them? You would think, I don't know, that they would be a good shot to become a professional assassin? That's the thing that really pisses me off. At some point in the movie they'll put off some crazy cool fucking kill...ten minutes later they can't hit the broad side of a barn.
