Get Out There and Save the World: The Final 'Interstellar' Trailer Brings Hope and Chills

There’s a certain feeling you get watching a great trailer, knowing you won’t be let down. When a director’s hand feels so sure, an actor’s voice guides you through fleeting thoughts and emotions, and for a few moments you helplessly and completely submerge. This is one of those trailers.

I’ve watched this multiple times now, and the goosebumps keep coming. The journey Interstellar explores is one we may well have to attempt one day; it’s hard to imagine selfish leaders capable of the choices and sacrifice individuals would willingly make. But we want to point our faces toward the future, need to know we’re not the only ones wondering how long we can go on the ways we do…have to believe in ourselves. The best creative minds ask the questions that prod us to think about and consider each other as one — humanity — and lend us a way to see ourselves as we truly want to be.

Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, Casey Affleck, Wes Bentley, and John Lithgow. It opens November 7th, or you can see it in 70mm IMAX, 70mm, and 35mm November 5th.

Theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne discusses the rules of Interstellar:
