About Alex doesn’t try to hid any parallels between itself and The Big Chill. In fact, it’s embracing them. Hell, they flash “The Big Chill for millennials” in the trailer, right before a scene of Max Greenberg dancing. But whether its an homage or totally derivitive makes no difference. I’m counting down the days to this one.

Jason Ritter is Alex (as in, about), whose recent breakdown and attempted suicide ends up bringing a bunch of his old friends together for a supportive reunion. This is the most talented, sexified cast I’ve seen outside of a Joe Swanberg joint. Aubrey Plaza, Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Ritter, and DID YOU EVEN KEEP READING AFTER “MAX GREENBERG DANCING”?
