The Best Trailer for a Movie that Doesn't Exist ... Yet

I’d say I was about to betray my intelligence when it comes to anime, but it’s fairly impossible to betray something that no one believes you actually have, so I’m going to go ahead and plead ignorance on this and let you guys figure it out.

Someone by the name of Mr. Furley sent me an email that included a fake trailer for a movie that doesn’t yet exist. It’s a remake of an anime flick called Technotise, which means absolutely nothing to me. Apparently, Hollywood has eyes on remaking this, so Jaron Pitt created a trailer reflecting his vision of the movie, which is something he also did with a Green Lantern trailer last year, which went insanely viral. That trailer featured Nathon Fillion on the lead role, and as cool as it was, I actually have to give the nod to this trailer, which features Milla Jovovich in the lead.

I don’t know what’s going on here, or how the hell Jaron Pitt managed to create a trailer this magnificent with some editing equipment, but I’m impressed. Like I said, I’m not into anime, and a remake of Technotise may or may not be blasphemous to the anime fan community, but this is a movie I’d see.

Here’s Pitt’s trailer, and below it is the original trailer for the anime. It’s kind of cool to compare and contrast, if only to demonstrate this guy’s skills with editing equipment.

For a fake trailer, that is entirely too convincing.

Goddamnit, that is a huge amount of awesome for a fake trailer.

Fake trailer is pretty cool, but I've already seen this movie. It's called "Blade Runner." Or maybe it was the second "Resident Evil" movie. Or maybe it was that godawful "Bionic Woman" remake they did on TV a couple years ago.

I'm faking excitement!

Technotise is a Serbian film. It's actually kinda ... awesome.

I think present day women do look like Milla Jovovich. They're called "Milla Jovovich and her relatives."

I'd rather see a live action of this with Katee Sackhoff, or anyone who looks sturdy. i'm more than a little tired of petite battlewaif type heroines

Posted by: idleprimate at January 21, 2010 3:07 PM

I'm not at all tired of Milla. But Katee as a co-star could be...interesting.

"Technotise-Edith and I" is a Serbian movie, it's an adaptation of a comic book by Aleksa Gajic, one of the most famous and popular comic book writers in Serbia, and is pretty awesome, despite a pretty lame, unsatisfying ending. Here's a link for anyone who's interested http://www.technotise.com/

The fake trailer is pretty great, I'd watch that movie despite my hate for remakes. Katee as Edith, wow...I guess I'll be in my bunk?

The animation trailer was excellent. I'd watch that.
