Struck By Lightning Trailer: Chris Colfer's Screenplay Puts "Glee" To Shame

I'm not a big fan of "Glee" -- in fact, I think I've only seen two total episodes. But in those few minutes of watching, I found Chris Colfer to be a pretty solid acting talent. Apparently, that's not his only talent -- he's also sold a pilot to Disney, has his first novel coming out this summer, and has written a couple of screenplays, all at a mere 21 years young.

Kid's got skills.

Filming on one of those screenplays has wrapped, and the trailer for it, titled Struck By Lightning, is below. It's a darkly comic high school flick, about an ambitious young man who blackmails members of his class in order to assemble a school literary magazine in the hopes that it will better his chances to get into the college of his choice. The cast is impressive -- Allison Janey, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney, and Sarah Hyland, to name a few. To make it even more promising, it's directed by Brian Dannelly, who made the criminally underrated and underseen Saved!.

It looks pretty fun. Take a peek:
