Stop Whatever You're Doing Right This Second. Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Inherent Vice' Trailer Is Finally Here!

I don’t want to over-excite you, but it’s here. IT’S HERE! The trailer for Inherent Vice is finally here, and it’s spectacular. Thus far we had only seen a couple of stills and a couple seconds of footage of the adaptation of the novel by the ultra-reclusive Thomas Pynchon, who himself will have a cameo in the film. Not that anyone will recognize him, unless his character looks like this:

But now suddenly we have a WHOLE TRAILER. In dealing with a perpetually-stoned, 1970s-era P.I., Paul Thomas Anderson seems to have returned to his prior comedic form and then some. We’re looking at gold here. Joaquin Phoenix falls down a lot, Josh Brolin yells in Japanese, and then Joaquin Phoenix falls down some more. Mark your calendars.
