The One Where Milla Jovovich Gets Passed Around

The last time that Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton appeared together was for the heist movie, The Score, a well-acted movie that never really went anywhere (the heist was fairly substandard). The two are reteaming with director John Curran (The Painted Veil, We Don’t Live Here Anymore) for a psychological thriller set in a prison. Norton plays a man convicted of arson and up for parole. DeNiro plays his parole officer. And Milla Jovovich plays Norton’s wife, who attempts to sex DeNiro into releasing her husband.

Adapted from Angus MacLachlan’s (Junebug) own play, the trailer (below) seems to give much of the movie away. At least on the face of it. I’d like to hope with the talent assembled that there’s a lot more bubbling underneath. Junebug and We Don’t Live Here Anymore are two of my favorite movies of the decade, and DeNiro and Norton can act, they just both have issues with script choice. Let’s just hope this one is not as flat as The Score.

You must really love your husband to suck on some old balls.

HA! I just realized that can be read in two completely different ways.

You must really love your husband to suck on Kball's balls.

Balls.

Psychological thriller + Edward Norton = I'm in.

I read he's kicking ass as twins too, in Leaves of Grass. Hmm, isn't grass grass? Does grass have leaves? So many questions.

nothing'll ever compare to primal fear-he was so pitch perfect in that.

thanks for that Kballs....i have never spit out a drink until now. I like diet coke all over my desk. fuck!!!

They had a cleaning crew come through here 24 hours ago and do an office detail too...so much for that.

If I was a parole dude and Milla offered to suck my balls, I'd let Manson out on good behaviour.

This looks solid. Milla, Norton, De Niro not being a douche. I love the Painted Veil and I thin Curran seems to get good perfomances out of his casts. What's up with the cornrows Eddie?

And Xtreme, don't you think Manson has earned a second chance? I mean, he never actually killed anyone...

Sorry for the delay John, I just got back from my bunk. I say free Manson, maybe let him into politics. Couldn't really fuck up California any worse from what I've heard.

If I was his parole officer and Milla Jovovich was going to sex me up to get him out, Manson would be hitting the bricks today.

Blades of grass. Grass has blades. No one tell Eli Roth.

Xtreme, Milla deserves some bunk time. I work for the State of California, and let me tell you, Charles Manson for Governor does NOT sound like a bad idea at this point. Maybe then we wouldn't get fucked out of 15% of our salary. But I digress...

And yeah, grass has blades. Or is it shards? Oh wait, that's glass. Yeah, blades it is.

Why does that picture of Milla look like a DeviantArt portrait?

Cindy
That would depend on the type of "grass" you're talking about...if you understand my language.

As for the film...anytime Norton plays a "bad" guy its pretty awesome. I'm getting vibes of his performance in American History X badass!!

As much as I like DeNiro, Norton and Jovovich, I think I would have to switch my brain off to suspend my belief enough for the plot. DeNiro seems to be playing an Institutional Parole Officer and while I don't know about every state in the US, in the ones that I do know about, the IPO has zero input on who goes up for parole and even less for who it is granted to. That's usually left up to an independant board to vote on. Some states have hearing officers that travel to prisons for grant hearings and those officers are granted power to make recommendations the board may or may not follow, but I can't believe any state would trust the opinion of anyone who worked with inmates on a regular basis, it would be too easy for personal bias to creep in, not to mention the potential for corruption and scandalous news stories. Not that facts or logic every played much of a role in a movie plot.
