Which Of Us Was Spartacus Again?

Starz has debuted the trailer for their upcoming take on the Spartacus legend, “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” and just to keep it interesting, has already announced that it will be renewed for a second season. That move is part shaking the balls for advertising and part cost-saving since it means that they won’t interrupt production between seasons.



Eh, looks like a video game ripping off Gladiator’s plot and 300’s technique, but it has a few interesting tidbits that keep it vaguely interesting. First, Sam Raimi is one of the executive producers. Second, Lucy Lawless is the female lead. Third, Starz is pushing that it features some of the most graphic sex scenes ever broadcast on television.

We can only hope that Kirk Douglas will make a cameo in the inevitable orgy scene.

Caught the panel at Comic Con. The cast all seemed pretty excited about the series. Like, yeah, they HAVE to put on that face, but they seemed honestly geeked about this coming out.

Apparently that promise of "graphic sex" is true also - heard there's some slave fluffing going on...

I thought pretty much the same thing when I saw an ad for it. It could still be good, but I'll remain somewhat cautious in regards to my enthusiasm.

Let's see, I saw Haldir, Xena, and the herald who gets thrown in a well from 300. All it's missing is a well placed "THIS....IS....SPARTACUS!".

I think I'll just wait for God of War 3.

Yay, another Artwork Before Content project. Maybe I'd watched it if there wasn't silicone (Lawless) and toned gladiators involved, but this looks like crap.

Sam Raimi is producing. I'll watch any TV show of his since "Legend of the Seeker."

Apparently it is on the nekkid side, because I saw an interview with Lawless where she talked about the wig she had to wear over her pubic hair. That's right, they make pube wigs!
