Blubberella vs. The Third Reich

It is a sad goddamn week when not one, but two Uwe Boll trailers appear for different movies, although they’re kind of the same movie with different “heroes.” Honestly, I’m not sure what’s going on here — is this some elaborate Uwe Boll hoax. Is this first trailer for Bluberella the same movie as Bloodrayne The Third Reich, only the bad-ass female antagonist in The Third Reich has been swapped out with an overweight superhero?

It is a joke, right? I mean: Both movies are set in the same time period, basically have the same plot, and both feature Clint Howard as a Nazi scientist. He just switched out the major female character.

Right?

Someone tell me what the fuck is going on here?

Here’s the trailer for Bluberella, the first obese female superhero, who will “kick major ass with her major ass.”

And here’s the trailer for Bloodrayne III: The Third Reich

Now, will someone please tell me what the hell is going on here?

Clint Howard gave up.

Bluberella, the first obese female superhero, who will “kick major ass with her major ass.”

John Waters and Divine have a bone to pick with this concept.

So that's three WWII/Nazi movies from Uwe Boll? I'm guessing his financing options are running out quickly, so he's recycling sets, costumes, and actors and filming multiple movies on the same shoot to keep working. Bluberella looks about as offensive as Paul Blart and other Kevin James-fare with the fat jokes, yet I feel strangely compelled to see the "first" film with an obese female superhero. It's slapstick Nazi vampire comedy and, ignoring Boll's involvement, could have potential to be stupid funny in the SyFy movie of the week way. Bloodrayne III doesn't deserve Roman numerals. Finally, the less said about his Holocaust film, the better.

It's got to be some kind of fakeout. The two leads have the same red streak in their hair and the same supporting male character appears in both. Also, the train footage is the same.

Anybody notice that the lead of "Blubberella" (can you imagine a more degrading or offensive title?) looks about twice the size on the poster than she does in the trailer? The actress appears to be a wide-framed 300 lbs, and not entirely lacking in agility and mobility.

On the poster, however, she appears to be pushing 500 lbs. Perhaps we're entering a new era of Fatspoitation movies?

The most important thing you can do with Uwe Boll is pay no attention to him. Eventually, the realities of economic darwinism will take care of the rest.

Does Uwe still offer to box his critics? If so how do I sign up for that? and if I win do I get a date with blubberella?

Posted by: BigTodd at November 9, 2010 1:26 PM

Does Uwe Boll still run Tax Shelter Productions (C)? or did they take that loophole away from him? I'm assuming Blubberella is a joke viral thing to promote Bloodrayne. And if it's not, fuck you Boll, we fat people aren't constantly eating, and I've only killed someone once for their food, and that was a McRib.

I think Robert is on the right track because the third of his nazi-themed movies is called "Auschwitz" and he filmed both of these on the same set...that's why they are all fighting Nazis!!
If you aren't aware "Auschwitz" is the horror-movie take on what happened at the concentration camp of the same name...because what really happened wasn't actually horrible enough.
I just watched the trailer for Auschwitz and I can't say I recommend anyone else view it. Or, you know what, really anything else Uwe Boll pulls out of his ass.

Uwe Boll ... the Roger Corman of the 21st Century?

Posted by: The Wanderer at November 9, 2010 2:03 PM

How dare you, The Wanderer. Roger Corman made many good films. Uwe Boll made zero so far. Corman has vision, restraint, and an ability to bring the best out in his performers. Uwe Boll has...an uncanny ability to manipulate national organizations to fund his films. Corman is always out for the benefit of film, constantly stepping away from the camera to secure financing and distribution for other low-budget and independent films. Uwe Boll is out for himself. They are nothing alike. Nothing.

Umm...I kinda enjoyed the trailer for Blubberella.

I have brought shame upon my family.

First of all, I don't weigh 300 lbs., but I'm about to fly in with my cape (plus size black leather duster coat?) trailing behind me and be Grammar Bitch:

"In a time when evil is arising" - evil either is rising, or it arises. Thank you.

Second:

2a. Don't say anything bad about Clint Howard. Ever.

2b. Don't say anything bad about Roger Corman. Ever.

I think "e" hit it on the head:

"I'm assuming Blubberella is a joke viral thing to promote Bloodrayne."

I'm pro-Uwe. Can't we just accept him as a B-Movie director and move on?

Posted by: Lucas at November 9, 2010 4:57 PM

No Lucas, we cannot. The movies he excretes are not fit to be called B-movies. Classifying them as such is elevating them far above their station, and is an insult to all true B-movies, if not, in fact, an insult to all movies period.

And The Wanderer, if we should ever meet, I will stab you in the eye for comparing Uwe Boll to Roger Corman. Uwe Boll is not worthy to lick the sweat from Rober Corman's balls. Roger Corman has more talent and class in one of his dingleberries than Use Boll has in his entire body, and I will skullfuck the mother of anyone who thinks otherwise, and then piss in the empty socket.

Ok, Uwe shot two films simultaneously, subbing in leads. He could get more bang for his buck utilizing the same locations, actors, costumes etc. This is not an uncommon practice ESPECIALLY in foreign countries and goes back DECADES (see Universal's Dracula and Spanish Dracula). Blubberrella is not a joke and WILL be relased (though in what capacity remains to be seen). The original title was not Blubberella, apparently the lead fought for a different title and lost.

Holy shit. Fatsploitation. If this isn't that, there should be.

You think they'd let me market the NuMu (attractive MuMus for the overweight fashionista)?

Posted by: superasente at November 9, 2010 7:03 PM

SicknessCinema, it was three films at once. Auschwitz also uses the same sets, costumes, and extras. Uwe Boll's a smart businessman, a gentleman in proper company, charming beyond belief when not challenging critics to boxing matches, but a poor filmmaker.

Posted by: Robert at November 9, 2010 7:24 PM

At least Boll had the sense to play Hitler in the film. I'd know those beady eyes anywhere.
