With Harry Potter opening last night, and a slew of Thanksgiving movies opening on Wednesday, the movie studios are anxious to attach trailers for all their big summer movies ahead of the offerings for one of the biggest movie-going weeks of the year. As such, we’ve had something of a banner week for blockbuster movie trailers, with trailers for five of next summer’s releases.

In case you missed any of them, here are the big five again, ranked from least compelling to the most.

5. Red Riding Hood (Starring Amanda Seyfried; Directed by Catherine Hardwicke)

4. Cars 2 (Starring Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, and Michael Caine)

3. The Green Lantern (Starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively)

2. Your Highness (Starring James Franco, Natalie Portman, Danny McBride and Zooey Deschanel)

1. Cowboys and Aliens (Starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford)

Actually, my computer froze up earlier this week and it was WAAAAY more entertaining than the Red Riding Hood trailer. Come to think of it, so was every bowel movement I've had.

So the list SHOULD look like this:

7. Red Riding Hood
6. Poop in Kballs' Shittin' Ditch
5. Kballs' Frozen Computer Screen
4. Cars 2
3. The Green Lantern
2. Your Highness
1. Cowboys and Aliens

I, more or less, concur with Kballs' list, but I really can't comment on the comparison between "Red Riding Hood" and the "Poop in Kballs' Shittin' Ditch" and "Kballs' Frozen Computer Screen", because I haven't seen the latter two. That said, having seen the "Red Riding Hood" trailer, I am not going to argue with its ranking.

Slim is gonna give you the rundown, suckas:

Nobody is gonna give a shit about Little Slut Playing Riding Hood

ANYTHING with hipster-quee Deschanel goes in the losses column.

Is it wrong that I have the Portman taking off her pants scene on replay?

Zooey! Natalie! Whyyy God...??

Posted by: mae at November 19, 2010 11:38 AM

Your Highness looks rather like it's trying to be a dirty version of A Knight's Tale...

Zooey! Natalie! Whyyy God...??

Hold on. Zooey starred in Yes Man and The Happening. Natalie not only did the Star Wars prequels but will also be in Thor next summer.

Just because they're indie faves doesn't mean they won't take the cash.

Oh and unless Red Riding Hood is getting eaten by the Wolf, I ain't seeing it.

ForbiddenDonut, you haven't seen Poop in Kballs' Shittin' Ditch? You're missing out. The special effects are mesmerizing (I just love motion capture) and Kevin Spacey does a phenomenal job playing Captain Fred Balls. The only complaint I had was that, when adapting the novel, they ditched that whole scene in the Museum of Natural History. Which makes sense when you think about it; I mean, it's not as if the drug dealers have anything to do with the overall quest! Still though, it would've been nice to see Fred Armisen in drag again.

barbadoslim I think I like "hipster-quee" better.

And I'll probably be in the minority here, but I think Your Highness looks absolutely atrociously unfunny.

Green Lantern looks like garbage.

There, I said it.

1. Cowboys and Aliens
2. Cowboys and Aliens
3. Maaaaaayyyybe Your Highness
4. Poop in KBalls' Shittin' Ditch

Isn't it sad that Your Highness looks more epic on the action scale than Green Lantern and Red Riding Hood combined? I think so.

They sure had some good barbers back in the Red Riding Hood 1300's, didn't they? I was just saying the other day at the corner shop that I wanted a clean shave like back in those days, just like in all those period paintings. Sam the barber just harumphed and agreed it is a lost art.

I'd just like to take a moment to say that the header pic of Natalie is so delicious that I forgive her for the movie with Kelso.

Oh, man, I missed the Cowboys & Aliens trailers the first time around, and I am STOKED! Especially when I glimpsed a little "Sam Rockwell" in the credits at the end. This conversation probably happened already, now that I think about it.

I'm still not sure about Danny McBride. He's funny sometimes, and he's been in some good movies, but still.

And how the fuck does McBride get top billing in that movie?

"couldn't be bothered to watch the cars 2 trailer and i love animated movies, thats how shite cars was"-idleprimate

You stole the words out of my mouth.

I think the other 4 movies look like fun, except for Blake Lively. That was the first time I had seen her act...wow...she's really terrible. Like Jessica Alba bad.

These are the blockbusters for 2011? I don't get it.
Especially cowboys and aliens, but that could be just cause I'm a girl.
