Prometheus Teaser: This Will Not Be A Bughunt

Still very little is known about Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. It’s in the same universe as Alien. That we know. Scott recently confirmed that there will definitely not be any xenomorphs — or aliens as we conventionally know them from the series — in Prometheus, but it will explore the origins of the alien known as the Space Jockey, the nickname given to the massive dead creature found by the Nostromo’s crew.

Whatever, the trailer’s coming on Thursday, which is exciting. And in trying to drum up more interest — which is tough, because I’m already pretty goddamn interested — Apple and Fox have released a teaser-type thing. Kind of a trailer for the trailer. Weird, I know, but if you click here, you can watch it. Should hold you over until we can show the real thing on Thursday.

If it features Idris Elba I'm obligated to watch. Though Ms. Theron makes me want to gag so maybe they cancel one another out. . .

When is season two of "Luther" coming to Netflix, by the way?

That's not a teaser. That's just Ridley Scott blowing himself on camera. Call me when there's a real trailer.

Apparently it's partially based on Eric van Däniken's bullshit.

And then Scott says some really stupid shit about NASA and the Vatican.

Hm.

Although I am amused that they mistook van Däniken's pseudo-scientific dreck as science fiction.
