Demonomania!

I’ll admit it. I love cheesy, schlocky horror movies. I like them goofy, bloody, and ridiculous. The reason I didn’t like Resident Evil: Afterlife (aside from the shitty acting, writing, and directing) is that it too itself so, so seriously. Which, given what it is, is ridiculous.

Night Of The Demons was a 1988 cult gore classic, that starred one of the all-time greatest scream queens, Linnea Quigley. It’s absolutely idiotic, and an absolute fucking barrel of fun. It’s now being remade, and after seeing the trailer, I’m down with it. It’s perfect, gory, stupid fun. I love it. I’m not embarrassed. The cast is a bizarre one — Monica Keena, Edward Furlong, Shannon Elizabeth (not to mention current D-level scream queen Tiffany Shepis). It’s an astonishing list of failed careers, but let’s not hold that against them. Anyway, take a look at the trailer. It’s extremely NSFW, for language, nudity, gore, you name it. It’s pretty wonderful.

It looks pretty dumb, doesn’t it? And yet, I am inexplicably giggling with glee. Sadly, it’s going straight to DVD, but I plan on drinking scotches and watching the shit out of it. Don’t you judge me, you fucks.

Between this and (the hopefully upcoming) Trick 'R Treat 2, the better Halloween movies will be on video and not in theaters.

And yes, I am giggling like a little teenager.

"No costume, no candy Motherfucker!"

Ah, 80's horror is alive and well. :D

Trick R Treat 2?!?! Please elaborate. That's like casually mentioning Drag Her Out of Hell (my name and idea for the sequel which I will gladly give to Raimi if he will make the fucking thing) and then blithely sauntering off with nary a detail divulged.

"Eww!"

Now that looks like a lot of fun.

It's going to be hard to top the lipstick into the nipple gag of the original.

Me and BF watched the original on demand in Oct. of last year. We thoroughly enjoyed it's sheer abandoment of plot in deference to extreme amounts of cheese.
The lipstick in the nipple and the razorblade in the apples death of the crotchety old man were both awesome. I miss shlocky 80s horror movies as well. Glad to see someone realized their merit and is trying to bring them back!

I couldn't remember if I had ever watched the original or not until I read that. I remember that scene from when I was definitely too young to be watching boobs. Now I'm even more excited for this.

How is it that, once again, the only thing standing between humanity and the end of the world is fucking Edward Furlong?

Diora Baird?

Yes, please.
