Ah hell, you gotta be kidding me. Another urban comedy about black guys who deal drugs. Goddamnit, I’m so sick of these flicks.

Oh wait, what’s that? Donald Faison and Mos Def? And And Avon Barksdale? Shiiiiit. Well, my apologies. Carry on, then (movie still looks like shit, but whatevs — anything that keeps Avon out of the clink).

Here’s the trailer for Next Day Air:

Most definitely worth a look?

I love Turk and Mos Def. But that's probably because that's what the white Hollywood machine wants.

Boooo! BSlim.

this actually looks good. a comedy/action kinda - bumbling thieves and small time crooks - maybe the sort of thing that Burt Reynolds would have been in in the 80's. back when he half sucked.

Was that..."Mos definitely worth a look", BSlim?

I'll watch it...it looks passably interesting. And it's Mos Def and Turk. They can do no wrong.

Meh, if it came on tv I probably wouldn't change the channel, but I don't see myself seeking it out.

Aaand... BSlim wins the award for worst pun of the day. Although it is only 10am here, so that could easily be bested. My professor today is a strong contender.

DAMN! YouTube is blocked at my work, so this will have to do...

Looks part "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" and part "Snatch," only with a black/hispanic cast (and no Guy Ritchie, of course). I'll wait until the dvd is out, and then netflix it.

Can't we have any decent movies based in Philly? What the fuck?

But then there's that crush I have on Mos Def...

Posted by: jamiepants at January 13, 2009 3:28 PM

That's exactly what I was thinking, EH.

You think they at least could have altered the preview to make it look a little less like a 'copy + paste'.

Maybe he's just Australian.

Posted by: general rhubarb at January 13, 2009 11:08 PM

Maybe Bruce just really likes that website. Hey Bruce, tell us what you really liked most about sugarmomma?

What? No! How can he be a spambot? Our love, all lies, empty lies!

Damn, why didn't I think of that? Sounds like some cool shit to me! Its about time, people keep it real! I'm tired of all the same ol "made up," Hollywood bullshit!
