New Expendables Trailer Awesome If You Like Block Letters

Man, I dunno. When you’re trying to sell a movie as a film with the greatest action stars of all time “for the first and only time,” you might want to cut it off at Statham, Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, and Jet Li. When you add Mickey Rourke (action hero?), Steve Austin, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews, you’re just diluting your message with very little upside.

Look at the cast list, though. No love interest. And only three women, who all seem to have small roles. What? Couldn’t find a female bad-ass? Should’ve asked Sigourney Weaver, at least. Or Linda Hamilton.

Chloe Moretz? She'd totally be a tough female lead!!

If they wanted REAL BAMFS for the film they'd have gotten Sir Ian McKellan, Christopher Walken, Jane Lynch, the NPH, Betty White, Tarantino, Morgan Freeman, Sam Rockwell, Cary Elwes (Before the fat days), Bear Grylls and the RDJ

AND McLovin....

Totally McLovin

I'd watch that.

I, for one, am excited about this movie.

This movie should come with a protein shake and a punch in the stomach before you enter.

I...I'm sorry. Did you just besmirch Mr. Terry Crews? The only watchable person in White Chicks? Triple-O-G? P-P-P-P-P-P-Power? The Health Inspector? You done fucked up now!

Posted by: admin at June 4, 2010 10:37 AM

"Besmirch" doesn't get used nearly enough.

I'm not really familiar with Steve Austin, so I keep reading that as Sean Austin, and then I picture him tagging along behind these badasses on his poor, short, little legs trying to keep up, jumping up and down and yelling all high-pitched and lispy, "Hey guyth! You guyth! Wait up guyth!" And then he screws everything up with his bumbling hijinks.

Let me sum that up:

"Alas, poor Yorick! Quoth the raven nevermore."

In the kingdom of the crystal skull.

Yeah, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esgh_tyH3Uc&feature=related

Equal parts laughter and crying, or was it the wrong type of "horror"?

I'm getting, to quote BushII, "mexed missages".

Admin, did you just admit to seeing White Chicks?

Have you no decency, sir?

Posted by: The Other Agent Johnson at June 4, 2010 12:34 PM

Other Agent, how long have you been around Pajiba? I think that I have proven time and time again, beyond any doubt, without question, that I do not.

Quite frankly I'm a little offended that you would even suggest such a thing.

Anyone else waiting for that bird to shit on the skull? Anyone?

This sounds like 120 minutes of sorry catchphrase attempts and forced cameos. I'm in.

For as badass as this sounds, that trailer was pretty weak. Perhaps they haven't finished editing it to make Stallone, Ahnuld, Rourke, and Dolph look 20 years younger.

Looking forward to it, but the Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger fluffer does seem desperate in the same way as Inglourious Basterds sold itself as the Dirty Dozen. Although Expendables really is the Dirty Dozen, which is about killing Nazi's, which Arnie's Dad was. Although he was born in Austria, not Germany. But Bruce Willis was born in Germany. And Stallone went to school in Switzerland...........................................................................................................................................
What the hell was my point?

Oh, yeah, the Nazi's were terrible in this trailer!!!

No JCVD?

Trailer looks like a "SNL" spoof.

I don't care how bad this is going to be. I am seeing it, and that's that.

No Samuel L. Motherfuckin' Jackson? Weak.
