Impatient for the Doctor to get back? The fifth series of “Doctor Who” was released on DVD and Blu-Ray this week, and they were kind enough to include a couple of fairly long missing scenes. I say missing, because they aren’t exactly cut, but more of the mini episode variety since they are titled “Meanwhile in the TARDIS” and happen in between a pair of episodes each. We’ve got them below.

First up is an early scene in which the Doctor shows off the TARDIS to Amy, really showing off the quality interplay between the two:

Second, we’ve got Amy going through the twelve step process of realizing that the Doctor isn’t actually trying to plumb her pond, despite the whole handsome man plucking her away in the middle of the night and showing off his spaceship angle. Nice glimpse too into the inevitable question the companion asks of why he takes someone with him. Because he can’t see the wonder anymore with his own eyes. Plus she tricks him into getting the TARDIS to show pictures of all the previous companions … I was really hoping that they’d show Captain Jack over and over again, I mean the TARDIS has to have a crush too, right?

Yeah, I can't wait to get my hands of the DVDs and see all the bits the FOOKIN PRAWNS at BBCA cut out.

Each of those scenes is better than some of the ones they left in. I wonder what drives the decision?

I'm still not sold on Amy Pond but as long as Donna Noble never comes back I'll live with what they give me.

Oh, actually they're new scenes, not cuts.

Oh Paddy, when we get gay divorced, I'll take custardy of Donna Noble. I'll take Pond too if you're not sold yet. You can have all the non-ginger companions.

Also, "Is it a cry for help? The bow tieeeeeeee." Love her.

"Custardy" is my new favorite word. It's so, so moist sounding, in a creamy sort of way.

SPACE GANDALF!

If I ever have a metal band, I now know what to name it.

"creamy sort of whey." Why didn't I think of that pun before I clicked the post button?

Sorry, I should have given acknowledgment to the BBC office for the custardy joke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqlhn8-Wa78&feature=related

It's only a trifling matter.

We need to start a "do Donna justice" campaign. Thay shit they pulled on her aint never gonna sit right with me.

Nope. I get Rose.

Yes, seeing Donna again would be a gay ol' time, but I firmly believe that fully half the reason her story stands out so much and was so very grand is by virtue of the very ending that we all continue discussing.

I'd call that an alright job.

This makes me want more Doctor Who right now.

I grudgingly admit the kid is growing on me.
"Space Gandalf". Brill.

If we're to believe River Song, he still has the damn parking brake on.

And Amy is a lovely ginger and her accent makes me weak in a special place, but she'll never be Donna Noble. Still, it could be worse (I won't bait fans by elaborating.)

oh, amy pond, you make me feel all tingly in my swimsuit area. jesus.

How many incarnations has Dr. Who been through now? This show has been on and off forever.
