New Cowboys And Aliens Trailer: We Deal In Lead, Friend

In a year when there are possibly more comic book movies coming out than in any year before, I never would have thought that Cowboys And Aliens would be the one I’d be the most excited about. And yet, here we are. I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised — when you consider that the best comic book movies of the last few years were directed by either Christopher Nolan or Jon Favreau, I suppose Favreau’s film should have garnered more anticipation than when it was originally announced.

Basically, it just looks flat-out cool. Despite his limited range, I’m a fan of Daniel Craig. He’s one of the few Bonds who looks like a legitimately dangerous human being, and frankly, he’s got the right amount of swagger and steely-eyed stare to make for a solid cowboy. It’s got Harrison Ford, finally giving us a reason to like Harrison Ford again (mother of God, has he been on a shit streak or what?). It’s got the better Olivia. It’s even Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano and Clancy Brown. What the hell’s there not to like?

2) Did I actually see Thirteen use her naked body as a diversion?

3) I don't like it when Sam Rockwell doesn't look pretty. I know I'm supposed to be ogling Daniel Craig, but I'm not into him.

I'm confused. So, the aliens abducted Daniel Craig's character, outfitted him with a weapon he could use against them, and then released him? Um, does that make sense to anyone?

This is easily my most anticipated movie of the summer of the few I actually care about. I saw the first trailer but I'm done with the marketing now. I want to be as unspoiled as possible when I get to the theater and I'm anticipating a great damn movie.

You goddamn right, Anna Von Beav. Been a fan of Clancy MF Brown since he was Rawhide in "Buckaroo Banzai".

Frankly most of this cast makes me happy, and the premise seems pretty awesome. Looking forward to this.
