How Great Life Would Be If Jared Leto Actually Was Mr. Nobody

We'll Have to Settle for an Imaginary Mr. Nobody / Dustin Rowles

Mr. Nobody comes from Belgian director Jaco van Dormael. It’s a trippy Benjamin Button-esque sci-fi-ish flick about Nemo Nobody (Jared Leto), a 34 year-old-man who wakes up one day in the year 2092, a time when Mars is now a vacation spot. He’s 120 years old, and the last of his kind (everyone else is immortal: Yay! Something to look forward to. Also face tattoos.). But all Nemo is interested in is whether he lived a good life. Apparently, living that good life involved making no decisions whatsoever, which allowed him to experience several lives with several wives.

The trailer doesn’t make a whole hell of a lot of sense, but it looks cool. You know what might make it look cooler, though? If Jared Leto wasn’t involved. Thankfully, his presence is equalized by Diane Kruger and, especially, Sarah Polley.

At least it looks like there's lots of sex...

Anyway, once upon a time before Jared Leto was a douchebag, he was a reasonably good actor. Also, I'm still a little bit in love with Jordan Catalano, and he really is very very pretty. And it looks like there'll be lots of sex.

It makes perfect sense. And I'll second AvB's lots of sex, not necessarily with AvB but...wait. He was married like six times? Isn't that lots of not sex?

Um, is it bad that all I could think of was Sliding Doors? As in, the only good movie Gwyneth Paltrow ever made, with nearly the same premise but less sex? Anybody else see it or is it just that I haven't had my coffee yet?

Who knew Jared Leto was still around? I thought he gave up acting to be some sort of Emo singer.

Who? What?

I predict no sex, but lots of O faces. AND deep disappointment.

Since this comes from a Belgian director I'll take the opportunity to give a shout out to the wonderful Belgian Dardennes brothers. Think the Coens are cool? Check this out. Go and watch anything by them NOW. They produce quality films every time.

Anne - I didn't make the Sliding Doors connection until you pointed it out, but I can definitely see what you mean.

I think Leto should stick to playing minor characters that are there just because the twisted lead characters want to beat the fuck out of something pretty.

Mimi your comment made me burst out laughing and now my annoying co-worker wants to know what the joke is. I'd like to beat the fuck out of her cause she's fucking annoying.

Anyway, I love Fight Club references

More like How Great Life would be if he was Paul Allen and Christian Bale had in fact hacked him in the face while dancing to Huey Lewis. Seriously, douche can't do anything. He was at one time truly fantastic, Requiem for a Dream and My So-Called Life are some examples. I blame teh Emoness for tainting Leto's almost pure soul.
