13 Minutes is a movie based on a true story about Georg Elser, a German carpenter who in 1939, attempted to carry out a bomb plot against Hitler at a Nazi convention in Munich. The film follows Elser’s confession as well as how a non-political Georg saw thousands of Jews being tortured and murdered for their faith and decided to do something about it. It also delves into his personal beliefs and how they would come to affect his personal relationships especially with the love of his life, Elsa.

It was directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and will be released on March 17th.

Next we’ve got Renegades, a film directed by Steven Quale (Final Destination 5, Into the Storm) and written by Luc Besson (Taken, Lucy) and Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, The Expendables 2). Renegades is a story about a group of Navy SEALs who discover a treasure, rumored to be worth millions of dollars, at the bottom of lake while they’re on assignment in Europe. In a move worthy of Robin Hood, they decide to go rogue and return the money to the people. Alas, there’s a hitch and the enemy catches wind of their plan and they’re left with 10 hours to carry out their mission. The film stars J.K. Simmons and Sullivan Stapleton and will be released February 3rd.

Lastly, we’ve got the Ken Marino (Children’s Hospital, Burning Love) directed film How to Be a Latin Lover. Eugenio Derbez plays Maximo, a man who wanted to live the high life so he married a richer older woman to supplement his dreams of being a kept man in the hopes that she’ll die soon and leave him her fortune. Twenty-five years later, that hasn’t happened and he’s getting the boot after being replaced by a younger man. He’s taken in by his sister, played by Salma Hayek, who is a hard worker with a son. Maximo recruits his nephew Hugo to befriend a classmate, Hugo. Maximo sees an opportunity to use his nephew Hugo as a way to get close to a widowed billionaire and it turns into a classic realization of “there’s more to life than riches and love is far more valuable” life lesson. How to Be a Latin Lover also stars Kristen Bell and Raquel Welch and is to be released April 28th.
