Earlier this evening, the internet exploded in a frenzy of blurry Hulk rage when a low grade Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was leaked almost a week ahead of its announced air date. Because once we know a thing exists, we can’t be expected to wait an SIX DAYS to see it. We’re not animals, Marvel! The trailer flashed through the internet like… well, like The Flash (or, yes, fine, like Quicksilver if we’re to keep it in house), popping up and being almost immediately removed everywhere you looked.

How could this have happened? What evil minds could be behind such an offensive act of movie franchise betrayal? Oh, Marvel knows.

Of course! Hydra: the only minds capable of such dastardly deception. But you know what they say about those guys. Cut off one head and, well, you know the rest. Rather than fight the piracy, Marvel went ahead and released the trailer officially, so you can watch it in all its HD creepy Pinocchio glory without feeling like a Whedon-betraying asshole.

Although, when you think about it, Marvel had this trailer out pretty quickly. Within a few hours, really not a lot of time to talk about revenue or (much needed) ratings lost from the scheduled airing during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Could this have been the plan all along? Do we, just maybe, have a double agent in our ranks?
