Life Happens Trailer: Can These Three Women Help Wash Out The Taste Of What To Expect When You're Expecting?
You know, I'd like for this to be good. If for no reason other than to hopefully lead some people away from the horrid-looking What To Expect When You're Expecting. And because, given my eminent spawning, I'd like to see a movie about the whole child-raising/child-free dynamic that's rapidly about to become a part of my life.
And the cast is decent. Krysten Ritter, who I adore and doesn't get nearly enough work, plays a single mom coping with single mom-hood in all of its various iterations -- dealing with work, friends and relationships. It co-stars Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Geoff Stults, Justin Kirk, Fallon Goodosn, Rhys Coiro, Jason Biggs, and Kristen Johnston. It's a potentially fun collection of talent, under the direction of first-time helmer/writer Kat Coiro. And I like that it's a mostly slapstick-free, not idiotic take on the situation, where the baby doesn't wreck your life and people have at least somewhat realistic, adult reactions. Somewhat, anyway.
The problem is, I don't know that the trailer sells it particularly well. Take a look:
