Whoa.

What we have here is one of Edward Norton’s more unusual choices, but then, almost every Ed Norton choice is unusual. In Leaves of Grass, he plays two twin brothers — one an Ivy League professor, the other a drug-dealing, hillbilly pothead fuckup who hatches a scheme and draws his straight-laced sibling into it. I’ll admit that Norton is not always in great movies, but Norton is great in every movie he’s in. He’s one of the greatest actors of our generation, and it’s pretty cool to see him working on a comedy. Under normal circumstances, gimmicks like playing identical twins can be really annoying, but then again, it’s a gimmick that’s usually used by either Jean Claude Van Damme (seriously, how many twin brother movies has he made) or some sort of Wayans Brothers-esque shitshow. This one, I’m actually pretty excited for.

Leaves of Grass is as of yet unsold and homeless, unfortunately. I’m sure it’ll find a distributor soon enough — it’s got too much pedigree not to. It also stars Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Keri Russell, and Tim Blake Nelson. Nelson, another great actor, actually wrote and directed the film as well, and I have to say there’s something deliciously sacrilegious about naming a wacky pot movie after a Walt Whitman collection of poetry.

In any event, here’s the trailer. Enjoy Edward Norton and Edward Norton.

A Walt Whitman reference, Ed Norton and a non-Apatowian use of weed?

I'm so there.

That was an AWESOME Dreyfuss moment. I'm going to have to try and catch this one.

Yay for Keri Russell. Why isn't she on my TV more often?

Norton is not always in great movies, but Norton is great in every movie he’s in.

True that. I love Norton. I watched Death to Smootchie for him. THAT is how deep my love.

Edward Norton IS one of the best actors of our generation, and I've kind of always felt like he didn't get the recognition he deserved.

I will definitely be seeing this, assuming some moronic studio exec actually manages to squeeze the good decision to pick it up out of his last remaining brain cell.

Holy Shit, Was that Eric Stoltz?

Ha, Smokin' Awesomebutt, I agree. Edward Norton is fantastic & for whatever reason, I always seem to forget about how much I like him. This sounds interesting.

Death to Smoochie is one of the most underrated satires ever. Especially after you have spawned and you see the type of shit that passes for "Kids programming".

The only thing better than Edward Norton is two Edward Nortons.

I'm there.

Damn, I heard about this thing like a year ago and it still hasn't found distribution? The best Oklahoma story never told has got to be the gargantuan haunted pot forest that is SE OK and all of its wacky denizens; well done, TBN.

Our Edward prefers a minuet,
The Ballet Russe, and Crepe Susette.
But Eddy likes to rock-n-roll,
A hotdog makes him lose control.
What a crazy set.

They're brothers, identical brothers all the way . . .

Great, now I have the Patty Duke theme running through my head.

She was brilliant, humorous, generous, and crack a smile sometimes. This image of abundant emotions, absoulutely outpace her "HR manager, Monthly income over $10,000 " life tag image. Express your emotion, let youself, life change to a poetic picture. A woman ===S *ugarl oves=c =om like that always reversed all sentient beings, got the love of whole world man.

Looks interesting. I was worried we were going to be subjected to 2 hours of singing the body electric.

I hope that one or both of the Edward Nortons have split personalities.

You had me at Smoochy.

holy smokes.

Edward Norton is, in my mind, the best dramatic actor of our generation. Indeed, back in those halcion days when he was seriously dating the over-the-top brilliant and over-the-top beautiful Salma Hayek, I thought the world could be saved solely by means of the perfect, talented, gorgeous little egghead babies those two would produce. Alas, it was not to be. I suppose I'll settle for a stoner movie, if that's all I can get.
