Like a lot of Americans, I discovered the wonders of Jillian Bell’s brash and bawdy brand of comedy with her scene-stealing role in 22 Jump Street. And yeah, I know she’s on Workaholics. But gang, I cannot make it through an episode of that show. Blame Adam DeVine or all the yelling, or the unfunniness. Whatever. Can’t do it, won’t do it. Thankfully now I don’t have to.
Next month Comedy Central is revealing Idiotsitter. Like Broad City, the sitcom is based on a webseries created by its female stars, Bell and Charlotte Newhouse. The former plays Gene, an out of control rich girl whose drug/booze-fueled antics earn her house arrest. So, her parents (Stephen Root and Jennifer Elise Cox) hire Billie (Newhouse), a deeply in debt Ivy Leaguer, to babysit their spoiled princess which leads to much slapstick, mayhem, and some tit jiggling.
If this is half of gif-able as Broad City, we’ll be beyond thrilled.
Idiotsitter premieres January 14 at 10:30 p.m. ET, following Workaholics.
Kristy Puchko is already dreaming of a Broad City/Idiotsitter crossover ep.
