The first teaser trailer for Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children looked to be a not-so-subtle criticism of how we’re all ruining our own lives with cell phones. Characters walked around with status bars and emojis over their heads. It also gave us a glimpse of that rare cinematic jewel: Adam Sandler, Serious Actor.

But the new trailer takes a deeper look into the film, and there seems to be a lot there. A lot of feelings, a lot of yelling, a lot of sexy sex. There’s the “The internet is evil” through line, but not in the after school special, yelling into the void sort of way we see so often. Yes, we should all put down our phones. No, we’re not going to. But I am more than happy to watch a cast this fantastic tell us why all we’re doomed because of it.
