I'm Happy, Hope You're Happy Too: Tom Tykwer's Trepidatious 3 Trailer

Run Lola Run director, Tom Tykwer is currently working with the Wachowskis on an adaptation of Cloud Atlas that will have its stars (Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Ben Whishaw, Hugo Weaving, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Jim Sturgess) swapping gender and race to play different roles in each of several related stories. As complicated as that project sounds, his latest film, 3 boasts a simpler premise; what if two longtime live-in lovers each begin an affair…with the same man?

Of course the emotional complexities may take us down an entirely different path of entanglements, but this stylistic trailer does a nice job of drawing in the viewer and passing on the impending panic and dread.

Though the film’s official description calls 3 a “sexy romantic drama with a nod to classic Hollywood screwball comedies,” the light-hearted side of this messy situation remains to be seen. Sophie Rois (Enemy at the Gates), Sebastian Schipper (The English Patient, Run Lola Run) and Devid Striesow (The Counterfeiters) star in this darling of last year’s film festival circuit and 3 will be out in limited release, September 16th.

Keen.

Not sure why everybody neglects to mention Perfume, though. That movie was the bees' tits.

A perfume is worth when it gives a pleasure, not the money it wants.
