I Really Like To Ride The Train, Especially When I Forget Where I'm Going: Turn Down The Lights For The Shame Red Band Trailer

The word out of the festival circuit is that director Steve McQueen’s Shame is an absolutely devastating film, a stunner through and through. The trailers have certainly been quite impressive, and the film looks like a dark, seductive but also unflinching and painful look at sexual addiction. It stars Obsessive Crazypants Joanna’s wannabe boytoy Pajiba favorite Michael Fassbender, who I quite like, though not with the rabidness of others. Regardless, this is supposed to be a film where he truly shines.

The newest, red-band trailer is a gorgeous 90 seconds of subtlety, sensuality with a hint of obsessive craziness. Take a look:

I can’t help but think of this song, though.

I mean that in the best possible way.

Michael Fassbender, the most determined actor out there on a quest for your ovaries. And he has not done a single movie that came out this year to convince me otherwise.

So, Pants. Is that "Pants" as in heavy breathing, or "Pants" as in underpants?

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSBBBEEEEEEENNNNDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEER.

Ladies, we will be assembling with our Dora backpacks in the south east corner of the building at 7pm sharp on opening day.

"Pants" as in "has them".

As I finish the first semester of an acting program at University, a few of us have agreed that we all just want to be half as good as Michael Fassbender so we can be hired for the rest of our lives.

I'm glad to see they told the MPAA to fuck right off and kept the NC-17.

I feel really sorry for the janitorial staff that has to clean up after every showing of this movie. What gets female moistness out of upholstery again?

TK - you quoting Lovage there? Well played, sir.

admin, Paddydog's instructions were perfectly clear. We will have our Dora backpacks and they will, in keeping with Paddy's previous dictum, be loaded up with towels and lube.

I want to be the troll and call him: OVERRATTTEEEED!But seriously, the love's a bit too much, don't you think?

Posted by: severine at November 30, 2011 1:37 PM

Mere towels? Après Michael, le déluge.

Posted by: Jast at November 30, 2011 2:24 PM

@Severine: Overrated? Nah, this guy is legitly talented and seems nice & sane offscreen, which is rare in this fickle showbiz. I do get what you mean, it's like Beatlemania 2.0 ;) But the fact that 98% of male and female, straight or not, want to bed him, shouldn't diminish his accomplishments in the least!

Glad the lusting herd is getting bigger and bigger when it comes down to showing Fassy some love. Have been a fan since HEX. Even medicore films i.e. Jonah Hex, Blood Creek, Angel are made better with Fassy.

I cannot waaaaaaaaaait to see this.

I really hope our shitty movie theater carries this. I doubt it, but I will hold out hope. Waiting for Netflix will be too much.

I asked my friend if he was free on Saturday. He said he felt like he had something important to do, but couldn't remember what. A few hours later, he realized that the important thing was seeing Shame with me on Friday night... for which he had mentally blocked off two days of his life.

We're still not sure if those two days are better spent in repeated viewings, or if we're just going to see it once and then think about it for a day and a half.

I'm only supposed to have one man-crush at a time, and Daniel Craig has performed that duty valiantly for quite some time. He may now have a contender though...

My friend invited me to a screening of Shame and not only was Mr. Fassbender there but I was three feet away from him and had no idea! He's a bit wee, but very good looking. The movie was subtle in the best possible way. Plus, lots and lots of peen. Anyhoo, that was my last Hollywood night for a while (I moved to Missouri) and it was great.
