I've Got a Girl In the War

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this world, it’s that your rescue helicopter will always be grabbed out of mid-air by giant alien (Godtopus?) tentacles seconds before it reaches you. This is especially true when the rescuee is Eric Balfour (star of the SyFy original movie Dinoshark). The new trailer for alien invasion flick Skyline features more than just action movie cliches, however. It also offers up Donald Faison on a platter. To the aliens. Nom nom nom.

And, because I’m new here, and because I know how to properly pander to the Pajiba audience, here’s the Pajibically ubiquitous Turk Dance, now with a French twist.

I'm up for it.

What'chu talkin' about, Willis?

(sorry, had to be said.)

This looks interesting enough. Thanks for passing it along.

And now I know to say 'mercy flush' in French. I like the cut of your jib.

Posted by: jM at October 1, 2010 10:12 AM

And was that a Josh Ritter reference?

Jib-cut-like + 1.

"We have no idea what they're capable of."

Uhh, judging by their actions in the trailer, I'd say they're capable of smashing all of our shit to pieces, you dense bitch.

Looks like a flick to catch in a crowded theater so that the atmosphere can transcend the abhorrent script and lazy plot holes, ala "Independence Day."

Which virus takes them out?

1. biological

2. computer

There needs to be way more Turk in that trailer. I'm thinking Scrubs meets Alien destruction flick, where he EAGLES all of the aliens out of our galaxy. EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGLE!

That looks fookin' retarded. And I plan to watch the shit out of it.

Looks like fun!

Nice with the Josh Ritter.

I agree with you MM, I have seen enough trailers to be able to tell which movies will be trash...but this looks like entertaining trash...or at least and crappy ID4 re-make that will still feature explosions...and (hopefully) no Michael Bay.

geep is so there.

MY GOD! I cannot wait to see this film! Pajiba has needed more excellent reporting like this for years. I've of course been saying this since Willis first showed me the site years ago. Also - my love for Willis aside - every website could use more Turk dancing.

I do have to question the phrase, "star of the SyFy original movie." I'm sorry a company unwilling to spell their own g'damn name right just to be "hip" does not actually make movies. They make long TV shows. Not saying I don't love these "a very special episodes" but they are a far cry from a movie.

Floweriest!

Where are you red squiggle, floweriest should not be a word!!

An alien invasion flick from the POV of a plucky group of American Apparel models.

Turk and Batista in one movie!

Looks better than "Independence Day".

Not that it's HARD, but still...
