The first look at David Wain’s new movie, They Came Together, was released back in January in the form of the ultimate meet cute between Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler. (They both like fiction books! Soul mates!) The movie is a romantic comedy spoof, cramming every trope of the genre into one film, meaning there will probably be multiple montages and Amy Poehler falls down a lot.

Generally speaking, “spoof” is not my favorite genre. With some obvious exceptions, it probably ranks just below pointless reboots, but above direct-to-VOD sequels. But look who we’re talking about here. David Wain + Amy Poehler + Paul Rudd = magic. That’s just, like, math. Plus, the supporting cast is bonkers. Cobie Smulders, Ken Marino, Bill Hader, Ellie Kemper, and Ed Helms! Also, not seen in this new trailer but credited on the IMDb page are Adam Scott, Max Greenfield, and John Stamos. Sold.
