Hayden Christensen Scared of His Own Shadow

Brad Anderson (The Machinist, Transsiberian) returns to the big screen with his latest, Vanishing on 7th Street, about a man (Hayden Christensen) who walks out into the city only to realize that everyone has disappeared. What has become of them?

They were attacked by shadows, of course.

An interesting concept, and one that might feel right at home on an episode of “Doctor Who,” but the trailer here doesn’t sell me on it (though, the plane falling from the sky is a nice touch). The idea here is that, in order to avoid being snuffed out, you have to hide in the light from the shadows. My suggestion: Find a fluorescent lit Cumberland Farms and hide out.

How the hell do you kill a shadow, anyway?

Star Bores aside, Christiansen gets a Forever Pass because of the shambling, sweaty-upper-lip, stuttering mass of freakage he delivered in Shattered Glass. He stole scenes from Peter Sarsgaaraaard. STOLE! From Saarsgaaard!!

I still won't see this, though. Because I'm a hypocrite like that....

If you go into the shadows do the Kryll get you?

IT'S CHRISTENSEN.

I'm with you klingonfree. Every time someone says something about how horrible Hayden Christensen is, I tell them to watch Shattered Glass. Perhaps it's an anomaly, but he's SCARY good in that film, so I have to believe it's possible that he could one day do it again.

The shadowmen. They serve none but Korrok.

Uhm, unless that's a joke; this has already been done on Doctor Who.

Shattered Glass is really solid. I was felt sweaty and tense just watching it. Let's just blame George Lucas for everything wrong with Hayden. He won't mind.

"(Hayden Christensen) who walks out into the city only to realize that everyone has disappeared. What has become of them?"

Must have been after everyone saw his lame-o portrayal of Anakin Skywalker. Everybody killed themselves.

When the fuck is that movie coming out?

Dustin,
You forgot Session Nine when mentioning Anderson's work. How can I ever trust you again?

Posted by: khia213 at December 7, 2010 5:04 PM

How do you kill a shadow?

You get Alec Baldwin to star in the big screen adaptation.

But Session 9 is the awesome...

Again: that plane falling out of the sky freaks me the fuck out. I have nightmares where that same exact thing happens. Gah.

I'm betting that everyone in the city was eaten by a Grue.

Anyone else catch the twilght zone reference when he steps on the glasses?

Get over it internet nerds, NO one believes your crap anymore - disemenating the junk you do about HAYDEN. It just does NOT hold water! Hayden has consistantly and persistantly given great performances. I DO blame Lucas, what big time director lets a 19 year old "newbie" take the heat for ALL of the Star Wars films instead of recognizing his own faults with it? If you review them, EVERYONE in the latest star wars movies even the great Samuel L. Jackson is lame in it! Geez, Ewan looks like a girl, Liam is awkward - ALL because of LUCAS. So stop putting all the blame on HAYDEN, it's MORE than unfounded. I WILL see this movie because I do NOT go to see ONLY big budget movies, I like Brad's style of directing and story telling and I like HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN'S acting - it gets more mature with each new movie, besides nerds HAYDEN is HOT and that must be why you tear him down. I can just see you now behind the screen, all 300 pounds of you with that pizza hanging out of your mouth, jealousy does NOT become you. Get over it, go see the movie, enjoy your life instead of being so negative.
