'Gold' Trailer: Maisie Williams Goes Small And Indie, Doesn't Stab Anyone
I fully expect for Maisie Williams, who blows us away on a weekly basis in Game Of Thrones, to have a huge and prosperous career. As she’s gotten older, she’s grown impressively as an actress, and I keep expecting to find her getting cast in something huge and expensive, something that will bring her to big screens everywhere. I’m half-waiting for someone to tell me she’s been cast as Jaina Solo in the next Star Wars movie or something.
(seriously, just think about that one for a second — Maisie as the Jedi Master daughter of Han Solo?)
I digress. Here is the trailer for Gold, a new Irish film directed by Niall Heery (Small Engine Repair) and co-starring David Wilmot, the lovely Kerry Condon, and James Nesbitt. It’s a beaut of a trailer, about an itinerant father who comes back to find his family, only to learn that his wife has since married his former gym teacher, and that none of them are particularly happy to see him. It looks delightful.
