Your Daily What the F**k Trailer

I dunno what the hell Dogtooth is, but we got an email containing the trailer for Dogtooth yesterday, and boy howdy. And what I mean by boy howdy is: Holyshitymessedupwhathehell duuuuuuuuude!

All I’m saying is: Keep the garden shears away from the house pets.

Here’s a description before I send you on your way:

A hyper-stylized mixture of physical violence and verbal comedy, Dogtooth is a darkly funny look at three teenagers confined to their parents’ isolated country estate and kept under strict rule and regimen — an inscrutable scenario that suggests a warped experiment in social conditioning and control.

Oh, and NSFW or for those with insensitivities.

Oh, I am all about this.

Posted by: TSF at June 9, 2010 8:59 AM

Well, No. I just.. uh, nope.

I think I need a little nap.

Wich of course means mastrubation-time!

More women got blasted in the face than a porno highlight reel. Was he hitting her with a shoe at one point?

Posted by: Kballs at June 9, 2010 9:06 AM

Everyone I know who's seen Dogtooth adores it. Someone kindly sent me a file a few weeks back but it was corrupted--still haven't recovered from that particular frustration. In a word, can't wait!

I laughed. A lot. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Posted by: admin at June 9, 2010 9:40 AM

That was weird. I don't know if it was funny. But it damn sure was weird.

Posted by: Tracer Bullet at June 9, 2010 9:40 AM

Can someone please tell me if there is any actual animal cruelty in this video? I can't deal, and frankly, I'm nervous.

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 9, 2010 9:52 AM

I need to see this. Need, like food, water, air and shelter. Need.

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 9, 2010 9:52 AM

No. Just people cruelty.

Posted by: myjetski at June 9, 2010 10:02 AM

Yes, I second AvB's request. I can deal with all the people being bit and sliced and whatnot, but if they actually hurt that cat... that's just not gonna do.

Posted by: Eva at June 9, 2010 10:03 AM

Man oh man... Thank you for exposing me to that. Disturbing, funny, shitballs crazy.

Posted by: logar at June 9, 2010 10:07 AM

I was at a buddy's apartment last night and made the point that if his two cats had opposable thumbs they would have killed and eaten him long ago. With guns and knives.

So ... yeah, I always keep a pair of garden shears handy in case the cats evolve.

Posted by: , at June 9, 2010 10:08 AM

*phew* thanks.

And I thought my family was weird....

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 9, 2010 10:16 AM

@, My cats can't wait to devour me. I can see them dreaming about how tasty I'll be. Jerks. Cute, but jerks for sure.

Posted by: myjetski at June 9, 2010 10:17 AM

Pretty sure that's a Nicholas Chartier biopic.

Posted by: laredo at June 9, 2010 10:24 AM

Meeeh... that really does nothing to dust my bedpost, if ya know what I'm sayin'...

*reaches out*
Want!

Posted by: Jim Doggie at June 9, 2010 11:09 AM

We need to get this guy and Dr. Heiter together.

Pronto.

Posted by: D-Day at June 9, 2010 12:01 PM

OK, just to confirm because I'm very sensitive: NO animals are harmed?

Posted by: MM at June 9, 2010 12:11 PM

Nice video clip of 9/11 spliced in there, mounopano.

I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch this. From what I've read on it, it just sounds miserable. I'm not saying there isn't a market for it but I myself can't really get into movies where every character is an unrelatable asshole. It sounds like they too The Village and mashed it up with real-life scumbag father Josef Fritzl, and slapped on comedy/Avant-garde label. Oh the joy. Where's my popcorn? Later on I can celebrate by kicking a midget?

I know it's a wee bit unfair to tee off on a movie I haven't seen yet, but the subject is a little nauseating and I'm not sure I'd care to invest time and money on it just to prove I'm right. Personally I'm curious as to why people who have seen it think this is entertaining perhaps there's a hidden quality about it, but I'm not holding my breath.

How did they get my home movies and who do I sue?

Posted by: EricD at June 9, 2010 12:50 PM

In a surreal way, this is a film about one family's Passion Play. I want to see this flick.

My cats? I keep them well-fed, because they're my emergency food supply if a famine hits. Some rosemary and sage, and toss 'em on the barbie. Four drumsticks apiece, no waiting.

Posted by: The Wanderer at June 9, 2010 1:00 PM

spoiler? possibly?

Delurking as I have actually seen this - last year at the local film festival. When someone asked me about it, the best I could come up with was "It's got tits and incest". I admit there are levels I did not capture particularly well with that description, but there's a possibility it left me a bit dazed.

Having read the Wikipedia synopsis, it sounds like a very "lite" version of this abominable Visitor Q movie that was mentioned in the Splice review.

Zombies? Check. Slashers? Check. Families being horrible to each other:

PASS.

Posted by: MM at June 9, 2010 2:06 PM

No harm to animals, MM.

Sadly, this actually sounds (from the Wiki link, there; thanks for that, bleujayone) like something I'd probably watch. Granted, I'd watch it with A LOT of booze, but I'd probably watch it.

Posted by: Anna von Beaversmack at June 9, 2010 2:14 PM

Disturbing or not, that was a damn well cut trailer

Posted by: ChristianH at June 9, 2010 4:26 PM

I saw that in Cannes, and it was really great. I was expecting that sort of ratshit insanity from the new Gaspar Noé (which was kinda lame, albeit interesting) and as someone remarked, yeah it belongs in the same wave of psychotic films like Irréversible and Visitor Q (or in a way, any of Miike's films). I loved those, so if you didn't, well... But frankly if you love cinema, you have to see it, if only for the experience.

Posted by: rg at June 9, 2010 9:05 PM

What the fuck? It's like Takashi Miike by way of Wes Anderson.

Posted by: Franzibald at June 9, 2010 11:51 PM

I will never get people who have no problem with people being beaten and hurt, but just can't take seeing an animal in pain. RACE TRAITORS.

Posted by: DP at June 10, 2010 6:42 PM

No one gives a fuck if you are "delurking" to comment. Post your comment that no one will read and go back to playing solitaire in your cubicle.
I dig spanish chicks ever since one told me she "likes the way I make the love". I hope the sisters get it on.
