'Doctor Who': Into Darkness...Finally, the Series 8 Full Trailer We've Been Waiting For

By Cindy Davis | Trailers | July 14, 2014 | Comments ()

Daleks and Cybermen and a T-Rex, oh my! After the lighthearted romp that was Matt Smith’s delighful, floppy-haired, jolly Eleven, I’m ready for a little darkness. There’s such a vast difference — well beyond the obvious age factor — between Smith and Capaldi, and that’s a good thing. And I don’t know about you, but I’m also pretty stoked to meet Danny Pink (Samuel Anderson), rumored to be a second companion this season. But never mind me; watch!

Life returns…and death too — I’m sure, August 23rd (UK). Oh and don’t forget Ben Wheatley (High Rise, Sightseers, Kill List) is directing the first two episodes.

Cindy Davis, (Twitter) is wicked excited.

I've known about Doctor Who for years. David Tennant has always been my image of the Doctor, even as a non-viewer. It's been on my shows-to-watch list for years. I've heard and read people talking passionately about it for years.

But it was casting Peter Capaldi as the Doctor that finally made me start watching the (2005) show this spring. I love the actor, he's looking to be great, and I no less than expect him to be my favourite Doctor.

Damn, I need to catch up before 23 August.

I am basically going to be insufferable with my excitement while his episodes are airing. I love him so.

Every time i hear him say "Into darkness", I keep expecting someone to yell "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN".

Aside: I was just watching the Pompeii episode the other day (I think it's 4th series - 10th Doctor and Donna), and Capaldi is the sculptor/Dad!! Karen Gillan is in that episode too.

Yaaaay Teenage Doctor Who and his adolescent plot lines have finally gone away. It was a long few years, but I'm glad the Doctor is finally back.

I guess I better finally get cable or satellite.

I've been wanting an older Doctor for so long, and I'm so thrilled it's Capaldi. I hope his episodes are good.

It should be Aug 23rd for you guys as well - didn't the whole accidental release of the scripts to the internet happen because they were scrambling to get translation done for a pan-galactic release of at least Ep 01?

They air on BBC America and other BBC affiliates world wide a few hours after the UK BBC air time.
