Do Your Tattoos Whisper To You In The Darkness? The Trailer For Comforting Skin

A lonely young woman’s desperate need for emotional and physical companionship draws her into a surreal and ultimately destructive relationship with a shifting and whispering tattoo she has willed to life on her skin.

Yikes. I’ve seen some messed up tattoos, and I’ve got a couple of unusual ones myself, but none of them… talk to me. Such is the subject of Canadian writer-director Derek Franson’s film, The Comforting Skin. The trailer is… it’s actually pretty great. It’s also a bit disturbing, and more than a little unnerving, especially when it starts to really open up the door into the craziness. Just watch:

Well, I was going to say something about "The Illustrated Man" but this movie is way more fucked up. (So, the bathtub gets a tattoo?)

Canadians are weird, creepy and a bit disconcerting.

It looks really cool. It looks like a flashier version of May with a tattoo replacing the doll in a glass box. I'm also getting major Repulsion vibes and a bit of In My Skin for seasoning, as well.

Love it! It looks so supremely creepy! And I like that it's a departure from the usual haunted house/crazed killer vibe. Part of the fear is its difference.

X-Files ep. Dude with a talking tattoo stalking Scully.

Thank you Robert for ensuring I never even bother considering watching May. Now excuse me while I clean up.

Why, Patty? You know about the doll from the first scene of May. And by flashier, I mean more violent, more effects driven, more in your face film action. May is quiet; this is loud.

Uhhhhhhhhhh. If the horror movie sleeve I'm getting comes to life...I'll just go ahead and shoot myself.

Hm. I like this trailer a lot. Good music, good creepy vibe. Worth seeing for me.

I will be soooooooo happy if/when any of my tats come to life. Mostly because none of them have faces so it'll be interesting to see how...
