Cat Run Trailer: You Had Me At "Paz Vega"

Ah, I do enjoy a good “Hijinks Ensue” movie. You know, take a simple premise and follow it with “and hijinks ensue.” Such is the case with Cat Run, a film with a bizarre cast that combines several no-names or lesser-knowns, D.L. Hughley doing what appears to be his Boxing Helena impression, Shooter McGavin Christopher McDonald, Eurotrip’s Scott Mechlowicz (who apparently still doesn’t know,) and of course, Paz Vega.

Cat Run is directed by John Stockwell, who has one of the weirdest resumes I’ve ever seen — his directorial credits include Blue Crush and Turistas, two films I never expected to type into the same sentence. I don’t know that it looks good, but it kind of looks fun, which is its own kind of good.

Here’s the trailer:

John Stockwell? Cougar John Stockwell? My Science Project John Stockwell?

Huh, boy is doing alright. I only see one problem with this project, I ain't watching anything with D.L. Hughley. Fuck that shit.

I saw Paz Vega holding a baby and for a moment thought this was the trailer for The Hangover 2: Electric Bugaloo.

Looks like a Redbox rental.

That is an odd cast. I thought DL was dead. Guess that was just his career.

Somebody has to:

Viva, Paz Vega!

his directorial credits include Blue Crush and Turistas, two films I never expected to type into the same sentence.

Throw in Into the Blue and his directorial style becomes much clearer: bikinis.

For me, hijinks become a great deal less wacky with the presence of a baby. Christ, I even hate the word "baby."

Fun, this does look.

It also has that guy that played the bad guy in that thing.

Also, nut shots!

Also, Paz Vega needs to eat a sammich.

When I wasn't seeing D.L. Hughley for the first like minute and a half, I was like "methinks TK has gotten his black actors confused." At least that was rectified, this however, is a confusing jumble. But possibly a netflix'in.

TK I'm a little surprised and disappointed that you didn't take this opportunity to put up the Scotty Doesn't Know video on here.

Let the comeback of Scott Mechlowicz begin!
