Bring the Popcorn and LSD: "Fringe" Season Five Teasers

The good news is that John Noble is recovering from his sleeping sickness (see, House leaves the air, and immediately Fox stars start coming down with obscure illnesses), the other good news is that "Fringe" is almost back on the air.

There were moments of doubt. Terrible cell-animated dirigible dreams of soul magnets moments. But this is getting quite exciting now. The first teaser features more ominous bald guys than Pinhead in a house of mirrors:

This second one is a bit less brain revving, and it actually rather forgettably went live a little while ago. "We'd better get to work"... oh it's like a non-ironic bad television trailer from the nineties. Don't work too hard Pacey, you'll get Joey in the end, at least until Maverick abducts her for his cult.

The final season of "Fringe" will begin Fridays on September 28th. And since everyone watches this on TiVo, that means you'll see something exciting after the baa-doop when you wake up Saturday afternoons. Or whenever the show ends up actually airing because of the inevitable MLB playoffs that will preempt it.

My love for John Noble on this show is whole hearted and pure. He should win everything for it.

I actually dread this season. I have loved this show since the first episode, and the lead-ups and hints about this final season are just so terrible, so ill-conceived and nuke-the-fridge and WTF stupid. I can only pray I'm wrong, but I'm afraid I'm not.

None of that means I won't be front and center for The Walter Show whenever it airs...

Cool. I just picked up the first 2 seasons on DVD and have been playing catch-up (and really enjoying it), but I remember reading somewhere that all or part of either season 3 or 4 was awful, or at least below par. Anything I should be aware of going forward?

Skip over "Brown Betty." Just skip it completely. You'll thank me, or you would if you ever saw that episode.

Curiosity got the better of me last night. Also, I'd had a few drinks so felt safe. It was among the weaker episodes, but the musical aspect was used sparingly so I kinda dug it. That said, hearing John Nobles voice coming out of Ari Graynor gave me a brief fit of the creeping horrors.

Thanks for the heads up, but I don't know if I can skip an episode with a synopsis like "Walter tells a young girl a fairy tale that includes musical performances by Olivia and Agent Broyles Lance "Toys 'R' Me" Reddick."

I might have to risk it, but I might need to keep some liquid assistance nearby.
