Crouching Tiger, Kung Fu Vampire

We began our day with Cocksucking Vampires, so it only makes sense that we end the day with a Blood Seeking Vampire. Here’s the trailer for Blood: The Last Vampire. It’s a vampire, a demon, and lots of fancy wire work. The logline: A vampire named Saya, who is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan, is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon in disguise.” It comes from Chris Nahon, also responsible for Kiss of the Dragon.

I don’t know much else about it, except this: It’s bad ass. And I’m looking forward to wearing an ass groove into a theater seat for it.

Well, that only looks slightly more awesome than donut flavoured beer.

Eh...I usually don't like live-action adaptations of good anime films. If anybody wants some background, look up the original. It's only 90 min, and it's excellent!

That gave me the tingles.

Is there any chance that the movie will be better than the trailer voice-over? cause that was fucking terrible.

Is that the alien from "Alien" at 0:42? Drop that bitch into a vampire/chop-socky movie, THAT would be badass.

Samurai Vampire.... Well that sounds like Asian Chick Blade

Seconded icthys, just watch the anime.

It's even free if you have Netflix. And half of it is even originally in English.

And the part that's not is mostly bloodspray.

Oi, enough with the vampires already.

Posted by: figgy at May 4, 2009 11:55 PM

That looks awesome! Seriously, though, RonnyK, I thought the same thing, especially down to the whole "half-blood" thing. Aaaaand the infiltrating the enemy thing to destroy even badder enemies, yea, it's Lady Blade... I'm totally ok with that.

Didn't Don LaFontaine (the trailer voice guy) die last year? Or are they just splicing old words of his onto new trailers? In a world where ...

I think given the visual effects and 'Light and Dark' stuff its sort o Blade meets Night Watch. Not necassarily a bad thing, I'm Just'Sayin'.

And Ken, there's a whole crew of them now who have pretty much the same voice. LaFonataine was the original and best(at least, for our generation) but there's like, a half dozen of the voice over peeps who have that sounding voice. 'She was the chosen one....the only one who could complete the task....of sitting through High School Musical 3...without dying. Or...SO SHE THOUGHT!! This summer...watch Nadine....*title announcement* COMMIT SLOW SUICIDE'

I wish they'd finally retire that voice-over artist. He's become a parody of himself.

I never did see the anime this is based off of, but some of my more otaku-minded buddies have and only have good things to say about it. I imagine with some fancy wire-fu, enough gore splatter to paint the inside of a mansion, and crazy sword play this will be a very entertaining movie.

shesh... finally! This thing has been in the works far longer than necessary. Anime Fans have been anticipating this little gem for years. Finally!

Ah Jun Ji-Hyun, or Gianna Jun as is her English language monicker for this film, how she completes me. (And BTW she's Korean not Japanese).
I recomend if you haven't already seen it to watch My Sassy Girl. Elisha Cuthbert starred in a crappy re-make last year but the original is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, rom-com's I've ever had the pleasure to see.

Saw the movie in Hong Kong. This movie is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The graphics were terrrible and looked unfinished. All lines were given in a monotone. Also, they butchered the stryline. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you must see it, see it on video.
