The Statham. 'Nuff Said.

I gotta tell you, this trailer doesn’t look particularly compelling. Blitz, a new British crime thriller due out later this year, features Jason Statham as “a tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers.” Yeah, I know. Sounds sort of USA original movie-ish, or direct to DVD-ish, at the least. However, before you judge it, there are a few items of note that elevate my interest beyond the trailer:
1. The Statham.
2. Paddy Considine, a terribly underused actor
3. The STATHAM
4. Aiden Gillen, aka Tommy Carcetti from “The Wire”
5. THE. FUCKING. STATHAM
And finally, the screenplay is by Nathan Parker. Parker only has one other screenwriting credit to his name, but it’s a doozy — he wrote the screenplay for Duncan Jones’ Moon. That’s a hell of a start.
Check the trailer:
Now, I realize there was a shortage of Statham shirtlessness, and for that, my decrepit readers, I apologize. Allow me to make it up to you:
