Arrested Development: The Movie Trailer

No. Not That Movie. A Documentary. / Dustin Rowles

Before we get on with this, a small note: This is our last trade post of the week. We got a couple more Anniversary posts this afternoon (one of which I may never recover from) and another movie review, but with no Friday releases, we’re taking the day off tomorrow in advance of Independence Day. We’ll leave a comment diversion for you to mull over if you’re stuck in the office. Otherwise, get away from your computer, try to find a pocket of sunlight (an impossible task in New England), and enjoy your weekends.

This is a good one to leave on: A trailer for an untitled Arrested Development documentary. I’m not sure exactly what’s going on — I couldn’t even say if there will ever be a final movie. It’s about the “AD” phenomenon, the “brainchild of two ‘Arrested Development’ superfans, Neil and Jeff.” According to the website, “The overall goal of the documentary is to provide awareness and education of this brilliant, witty and original comedy. We are looking to interview viewers, cast, crew and any other industry figures that are fans or critics of the show.”

Whatever. It’s just nice to see the gang back, in any configuration. And maybe it’ll help bolster the prospects of the eventual movie. Also, it just kind of feels good to know that most of us were in on that inside joke of a sitcom, you know? This provides a little feel-good validation:

Another example of the shoddy narration of the episode of Scandal Makers.

I'm off Monday. I think everybody else in the world is off tomorrow. At least I get to leave early, though. Yay!

(one of which I may never recover from)

Color me curious indeed...

So it's up for speculation. My theories include the true meaning of Pajiba, another video post and one that is almost too sinister to think.

Wow. That's a hell of a lot of interviews. I mean, Keith Olbermann? Where did he come from? The only people missing are the obvious ones, Bateman and Cera. But still, if this was an actual film, it could be amazing just for the sheer number of people they got to talk about the show.

Maebe. I'd hit it. She's legal now.

I think everybody else in the world is off tomorrow.

Except for...you know...all those places in the world that aren't the US of A.

This all reminds me of how much I quote this show without even realizing it's happening. Last week, this guy sits down next to me on the metro and rattles off about how beautiful I am and how he'd like to go out with me and I go, "I'm damaged goods you know. I was born with a whole in my heart."

I think that turned him off. And he was a cute Bolivian guy too. Oh well. If he didn't get it he didn't deserve me anyway.

Hey Kayla, I think they're called "Mexican guys from Bolivia", unless you're getting "politically correct".
