And When I Die I Expect to Find Him Laughing: "Dexter" Season 6 Full Trailer, Now with More Adrenaline, Action and Adama

Finally, we get the “Dexter” trailer we’ve been waiting for; the one with our boy going in for a kill, a couple of intriguingly mysterious guest actors and the appropriate dark music accompaniment. This is the tease that gets our minds wondering what the hell kind of impossible mess Dex will get in and out of this season. That’s pretty much what we’ve come to expect from this show, along with the usual good beginning, slow to boring middle, crescendo and then either a loud boom that leaves us breathless, or a whimper. Season 5 was one that whimpered and sort of limped off the air, maybe a little ashamed of what it had done. But I have higher hopes for Season 6 for two reasons. Number one: Edward James Olmos. Man can act his motherfrakking ass off and he can play good, bad, twisted—you name it. It looks like he may be some sort of religious figure here, possibly directing the activities of another of the season’s guests, Colin Hanks. Reason number two is, I think we have a good shot at Deb finding out about her brother’s true nature. It’s time. The show has been teasing us long enough now. As much as Deb tries to be a straight cop, I really think she’d struggle with her knowledge for a while and then decide to stand by her brother (as in, not turn him in). And if that happens, the next season could dive right into that mess—Deb the cop vs. Deb the sister. Lots of speculation on my part, I know.

Here’s the heart-pounding trailer:

There’s quite a bit going on there, I think I have to watch a few more times. Looks like Deb may have gotten a promotion and is EJO the competition?

Mos Def also guest stars and “Dexter” Season 6 will premiere on Showtime, October 2, 2011.

"Personal Jesus" is such a fantabulous song. Dexter, on the other hand, makes me wanna shaky-hand-chain-smoke a buttload of cigarettes---and I don't even smoke.

I wish I could watch it but here in the UK we're still in the middle of season 5. Damn you, FX or Sky or Showtime - whoever is to blame for the time lag, I hate you so much.

Adama? Oh yes, I olmos forgot.

I wish I could watch it

If only someone could invent a way to 'record' the episodes and then make them available online, right? One can dream!

I feel weird admitting this, but I really love Manson's cover of that song.

I'm just now watching season 5 and it's kind of a slog. I guess anything would have been disappointing after the fantastic Lithgow season. He was soooo damn good.

That season was not bad in comparison with the Lithgow season. It was bad in comparison with non-rhythmic oral sex administered with too much pressure from a guy who hasn't shaved in four days. It was bad in comparison to waking up with a hangover only to realize you started your period and have the flu. It was bad in comparison with your mother-in-law popping by to visit and finding you mid-coitus with her son on your back deck wearing Minnie Mouse ears.

I didn't particularly care for the last season of Dexter.

(Or for my mother-in-law's unannounced visits.)

Girl With The Dragon Tattoo copy-cat trailer

Yes, that's right. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer was the first trailer to ever incorporate the innovative "fast cutting to a rock song" technique.

Speak of GwtDT, I hope the american version doesn't bore the ever-lovin' shit out of me like the original did...but it probably will.

Why oh why can't they pick on the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslims, etc. Why is it Hollywood only hate the Judeo-Christian faith. Every human is a hypocrite, that's part of what makes us human. The crazy christian is an old tired stereo-type now, just like the black guy is the criminal, the butler did it,sigh.

Well, Fox picks on Muslims plenty, and as for the rest, I think something like 80% of the country identifies as Christian. That's why.
