A Sneak Peek at the Trailer for Green Lantern

I guess the trailer for Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern debuts on Tuesday, and I’ll let TK do the honors once the full trailer unspools since he knows what he’s talking about with regards to comic book movies and the lamest superhero this side of Aquaman. But it has come to this: A sneak peak of a trailer.

Yeah. I know it’s stupid. But tell me you aren’t going to watch it? My R-Squared biases obviously call into question anything I might have to say about Green Lantern … but, as a superhero movie, it looks plain goddamn stupid. As a comedy? It could be fun. As a means for displaying shirtless Ryan Reynolds? Well, even the sneak peak of the trailer speaks for itself.

that costume looks CGI terrible and also i dont understand why people consider green lantern to be lame. i think hes got a pretty neat power thats both unique and original yet has its own flaws and drawbacks so as not to be too overpowered

Does this mean they have or have not appropriately harnessed the smarmy? I do not mean that as a euphemism.

Why are people who hate superheroes and comics allowed to make these movies?

It's like they never read a Green Lantern comic. But that's cool, right? The character has only been around nearly as long as Batman - it's not like anyone has ever heard of him.

Wait a sec...some of those scenes look awfully close to that fake GL trailer with Fillion. Huh.

Is there a way you guys can juxtapose the two for comparison?

i thought that the footage looked good

Wait, wait, wait! So you're telling me this isn't the sequel to Sex Magic? I just assumed that the lantern ring was a euphimism for his penis....

I've got a green lantern in my pants.

Looks like they went with the "Fantastic FOur" vibe. If I'm right then it just might suck and blow at the same time.

Where the hell is my weekend comment diversion? Work sucks and I'm bored!

I don't know, I found the Fantastic 4 movies to be quite fantastic.

This is the most awesome troll I have seen in years. That's practically art, man. Congratulations.

Good God, Dustin. Is this what it's come to? "Borrowing" a trailer preview from Entertainment Tonight? You shame yourself, sir.

Moral of the story: RyRy is extremely attractive and seems to have a large penis.

Or at least that was all I got out of the trailer trailer.

So, instead of casting someone appropriate for Hal Jordan, they just rewrote the character to fit Ryan Reynolds' most basic screen persona. That makes sense.

You know what the difference between Ryan Reynolds and Nathan Fillion is? Nathan Fillion made Green Lantern look good.

But are his rock hard, tasty abs showing?

Here again, another movie with a poorly hidden image of a building in the shape of a penis. Check out the first trailer with the green light falling from sky and hitting the top of the building at like 1:54 into the video. So stop it at 1:54. It's a Penis, Penis, Penis-shaped building. You can't deny it.
